nope - you will be in huge trouble if you do that -- unlike here where (based on government actions) they don't give a sh*t! |

Just because you're an American does not give you the right to overstay any more than an Ethiopian would be. You still have to live under the same laws as the Ethiopian does.
Being American gives you no more rights or privileges in a foreign country than anyone else. American law does not apply in a foreign country; far too few people realize that. |

When you go to another country, being American doesn't distinguish you from any other foreigner.
You are subject to the regulations and laws of that country and if the legal authority of that country requires you to leave by a certain date, you have to go.
If not, you can be subject to any penalty laid down in that country's laws. |

No, U.S. citizens must respect the laws of the host country just like anyone else. Why should a U.S. citizen be treated any differently? |

NO of course not - just as foreigners CANNOT overstay in USA.
why?
do you truely think that all americans are welcome everywhere?
ROTFLMAO
GET REAL
Americans are HATED around the world. |

Yes, you can, but don`t be surprised if you get some old shoes thrown at you by natives...(you can thank Geo. Bush for that.) |

You can, but you will have a hard time getting back into that country on your next visit. |

It depends on the country:
If is a thirld world country, that is an US allie, there is no overstay, BUT you will have to pay for the time exceeded. EX. I went to dominican republic last year, i had a tourist visa for 90 days, i left the country 1 month after that. I had to pay $20 at the airport to leave the country. the 20 were a fee, not a fine. however, if i were an haitian entering DR, i probably would be deported...so again it depends on your country of origin and the country you are entering. |
