old b/f got deported back to libya 10 yars ago and afraid he will come here to ireland, anyone know if his passport gets stamped to show he was deported? or can he travel anywere but uk

Well, he will be asked whether he has been deported from any country when he applies for his visa. And yes, the UK shares its records with the rest of the EU just so that people cannot game the system.

If it doesn't say on the passport that he was deported, I don't see how they would know. Besides, Ireland isn't the UK, unless he is going to Northern Ireland.
