I would personally help them. I'd attend to their medical needs and let them rest. Then I would help them get back to either where they came from or where they were going. I would not let them stay with me, unless they asked properly, agreed to follow my rules, and they were the sort of people I would want to live with me!

Your question is easy on it's face, I would let them on to my island rather than let them drown.

BUT now lets really compare the illegal immigration question. The true scenario. I have an island and they have a boat that ISN'T sinking, but they let a few people take over and really make it a dump and they won't do anything to take it back and make it better because it's easier to just come to my nice island and live off of me than clean up the boat, would I let them on the island, NO, I'd tell them to stay where they are and make their boat better so they won't WANT to come to my island.
