in order for you to detain US citizenship ? your natural mother would had to declare your birth to US consulate in Canada and provide someone with documentation..
what does your birth certificate say?
so the fact that you say she was a US citizen does not make you one automatically.
and if she either abandoned you or put you up for adoption? it would not give you US citizenship,only if your birth certificate said so.
if she relinquished her parental rights you are not a US citizen.

did your adoptive mother applied for US citizenship? you should not be undocumented if you both moved to the US legally...you really need to be more precise about this.

REPORTING THE BIRTH

A Consular Report of Birth can be prepared only at an American consular office overseas while the child is under the age of 18. Usually, in order to establish the childâ€™s citizenship under the appropriate provisions of U.S. law, the following documents must be submitted:

(1) an official record of the childâ€™s foreign birth;
(2) evidence of the parent(s)â€™ U.S. citizenship (e.g., a certified birth certificate, current U.S.
passport, or Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship);
(3) evidence of the parentsâ€™ marriage, if applicable; and
(4) affidavits of parent(s)â€™ residence and physical presence in the United States.

In certain cases, it may be necessary to submit additional documents, including affidavits of paternity and support, divorce decrees from prior marriages, or medical reports of blood compatibility. All evidentiary documents should be certified as true copies of the originals by the registrar of the office wherein each document was issued. A service fee of $65 is prescribed under the provisions of Title 22 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 22.1, item 9, for a Consular Report of Birth.

Did your mother have one year of continuous physical present in the U.S. at any time prior to your birth? If so, you have been a U.S. citizen since the time you were born. Section 301(g) does apply to you, at least to the extent of figuring out if you're a U.S. citizen or not.

You will need to file form N-600 with U.S. CIS for a final answer and a certificate of citizenship. Court is not involved.

If you are truly are a U.S. citizen, you can get rid of the "undocumented," also known as illegal alien, label.

It depends on when you were born, but you don't have to go to court. You will need your mother's birth certificate and proof that she resided in the US for some period of time as an adult. (Sorry I just don't remember the dates and ages for this). You will also need your birth certificate.

If you were still in Canada I would say you should take this info to the nearest consulate. You are probably a US citizen but you will have to get some cooperation from your birth mother to demonstrate that.

You can apply for duel citizenship I think.

You should be able to apply for Canadian Citizenship as well as American, as long as you can prove your mother was American. I live in England so I don't know where you would go to apply and find out this information but to my knowledge you can have both.

you were born on Canadian soil...your canadian...if you were born in an american provence of another country then you could call yourself american, but you are not.
