Illegal Immigration...lets PLEASE do something about it!?

In this economy, it makes this glaring problem in my hometown of Los Angeles even more evident... there was a march a few days ago where several thousand people stopped the streets of downtown marching for their rights to enter a country illegally. i dont get it. they come to this country to get the social benefits and then march the streets protesting for their rights...what rights does someone have when they hop a border and clearly break the law, considering there are people that wait for years to do it the right way (paying into the system, learning english, learning american history, etc etc)?

Look, at risk of sounding politically incorrect, the reality is that illegal immigrants pay some money to hop the border, have their child as soon as possible so the child gains citizenship, not to mention the baby was delivered in an ER (funded by the govt of course) because they have no health insurance, and then they send the child to a school they dont pay taxes for, get free lunch at that school because the govt will pay for that if u dont make too much money, only for this child to have a significantly higher chance to wind up in a prison THAT HIS FAMILY NEVER PAID A DIME FOR!

ok sorry, that was a rant. its just frustrating. im not against immigration, im not racist, i just want to see change in the way this country is handling this problem. if we need to change the process so that more people can become citizens, lets do that. but lets be fair, and lets make them pay taxes, and lets hold them responsible for walking into emergency rooms they cant pay for, and so on and so on....ok rant over. thanks for listening

ive lived in so cal my whole life, and i have never seen it as bad as this...my mother is a teacher in the OC and literally 80% of the kids there get free breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria for free. well not for free, on my taxdollars. when these kids grow up, then whats going to happen? were going to have 6 million+ people expecting to get social security? we keep teaching them that illegals can come here and get free food, health care, education, etc, with no strings attached. its getting bad. im disappointed in my state. as a productive person that has spent his whole life in CA, this new tax is the straw that broke the camels back. im buying my first house in a different state, and i dont think ill ever move back...sorry CA politicians u just dont get it.

Write and fax you Senators and Congressman, and watch how they vote on the upcoming Reform, if they vote to legalize 20 million illegal, vote them out on the next elections. We have to let our representatives know that WE are the ones paying their salaries and the cushy life style,they enjoy, not the illegal immigrants

You need to read George Borjas , a Harvard professor ( Hispanic) in Economics, as he sees illegal immigration as bad for this country.
Hispanics have access to a lot of benefits through their anchor babies, perhaps that is why 58% of young Latinas have babies out of wedlock. I coul d go on and on and rebuff a lot of your assertions,but I really do not have the time to write a book on this theme. You may be able to fool some people, but you are not fooling me, I speak Spanish and read a lot of their sites and forums and also know how many of the Hispanics feel towards the " gringo"

I am first generation American. Both my parents came to America from Russia a long time ago (they are now both deceased), they worked hard, had to learn English and became citizens the legal and proper way. I too, have had it with illegal immigration. What part of "illegal" don't people understand? They not only are a burden on our various systems (education, healthcare, etc) but generally wind up sending what money they do make here, back to whatever country they came from - not helping our economy, but someone else's. Although I am very liberal, this is one area I do not tolerate lightly.

Sorry to say, if you want to get away from the illegals, your going to have to move. I used to live in L.A., it go so bad with illegals, crime drugs I move far away, much better now.
The mayor of L.A. is Antonio Villaraigosa, he's Hispanic and like the majority of Hispanics in L.A, is in favor of illegal invasion. He also had a affair with a telemundo news anchor, he has no morals what so ever.

Actually, the children of illegals take up quite a bit of money. It costs $7000-8000 a year to send a child to school every year in California. Probably more if they need ESL. You also forgot the the children born to illegal immigrants get welfare if the parents are not already getting it from fake IDs. One of the scams is to work under the table and collect welfare at the same time using a fake ID.

Believe it or not, I am an IMMIGRANT. I don't live in the shadows or in fear. The secret is that my family waited in line for years while working in our former country, learned about US government to pass the entry exam as well as went through the medical screenings. What a novel concept! Follow the laws. The US can not take in every country that is "poor". Mexico has a 4.1% unemployment rate.

The reason they come here is that they can make 2-5 times more than in Mexico. So when they shack up with 10-20 people, they are saving money so they can live really well when they get back to Mexico. Their cost of living is also much less.

The problem is only getting worse because hispanics are racist. In terms of putting their own ethnicity above the others and the law. If you don't believe me, you simply haven't experienced or noticed it. Politicians are now pandering for the hispanic vote because they know that they have a higher reproductive rate and higher immigration rate (both legal and illegal). The hispanic politicians like Luis Gutieres are also trying to change US laws in favor of illegals such as with drivers licenses. How many laws must be changed or broken to accomodate illegal aliens? Pathetic. I wonder why we can't expect them to follow the law like my family did?

You need to look at the sites below and see who is taking the most from the lobbyists, this will give you an idea who you might have a chance to contact and get some help. They take the money and abuse them, low pay etc. You also have to figure who is making money from housing for them. Big money, you probably already know which of your elected officials are making the money.

Yeah now theres a law in certain states where if an illegal has a drivers license they can keep it and use it except for passport reasons. I can't even believe it. Rewarding people for breaking into the country and obtaining an illegal license? This is nuts!

Mexico had the exact same problem when it had newly gained its independence with Texas (then known as the state of Tejas). Many Americans came to Tejas illegally but they did not agree with the laws (ie. become Catholic or quit slavery). Because Mexico was still weak from its independence, they didn't have the money and power to ward them off easily. One thing led to another, and now Texas is USA's. Due to limited land (about 1/2 of Mexican land was taken away) people didn't get to migrate as much as Americans did. This effected the economy and still does today. That's why many cross the border.

Don't get me wrong. It's not like Mexicans are taking revenge; there simply isn't money or life in Mexico because they're so limited. What's worse is that Texas seceded from Mexico because they were fighting "rights" that weren't even given to them. They sold their rights away to live there, but then they wanted it back. Kinda like stealing.
Some people try sugarcoating it by saying that USA bought the land - they did. However, at a very small price. Kinda like if I held a gun to your head and said that I wanted to buy your house for 100 bucks.

Oh, and they do pay taxes. It's called sales tax. My parents were illegal and they paid income tax. Dunno where you heard that from. Just remember: they're illegals, not criminals. That's a horrible generalization and it's also very ignorant of you to say that.

Motes with a lot of alligators in them, cheaper and more effective than fencing, why are they still coming in? They have babies and draw welfare. This is killing the tax payers, I wish I could find a way to leach from the system. Why not? Just now on t.v. it was stated the Latino race is up 51%......we cannot afford this anymore, why isn't there a stop to it?

Don't ya see, that by letting all those people in here, it creates jobs!! prison, hospitals, schools etc.etc. and they get those illegals to vote, this is why that scum bag pelosi wants us all to pay to take care of them, for the vote!!! She and her husband are fabulously RICH, I say if she wants them then she would pay for them, she just wants the vote! These people are not marching to enter the country illegally, they are marching for Immigration Reform....and to stop the raids (Reform, Not Raids). Many of these people have made America their home, they have families now and don't want be seperated from their families. The many people that support them feel the same way, and also see how important they are to our economy.

They DO NOT use up our benefits because they have been banned from most Government Services since 1996 when Congress passed (and President Clinton signed) the welfare-reform law known as the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act. From then on, only citizens or legal immigrants, such as those with a Green Card, were eligible for federal benefits. Illegal immigrants actually pay more into they system, then in the little services that they are eligible for.......so you can say "WE OWE THEM".

dude by what your saying you do sound racist They come over here because the place that they came from is garbage so there looking for something better, and sometimes the legal way doesn't work, my friends parents did it the "LEGAL WAY" and they didn't get anywhere, the judge told them and there 4 kids that they didn't have a good reason to stay here, sometimes if things are not getting done you have to get up and fight for it.
