Illegal Student Citizenship?

My long time cousin came to U.S when he was 6 and wants to know if he can get like a visa or a green card, i said i don't know because WELL i just dont know lol...he's also considering joining the millitary to see if he can get citizenship but i dont think he can..right?

he's already graduated from highschool and wants to get to college but he isnt sure if he can get financial aid without his green card or something
IDK its all confusing with the whole immigration thingy...can some one explain to me all this so i can explain him

ohh yea and he's already 18 so i dont know if adoption by an american citizen counts...is there a way to help him?

How did he enter the country? The answer to that question is all that matters.
If he entered legally with a visa,he has options. He can adjust his status,apply for the military and go to college.
If he entered illegally,there isn't much he can do except leave the country and apply for re-entry legally. He cannot get a green card,enter the military or receive financial aid if he is here illegally.
He needs the advice of an immigration attorney.

He can't get citizenship and he can't get financial aid. He can however, return to his home country.

this is why many want to curb illegal invasion, the parents come here with kids and then the parents expect the U.S. taxpayers to foot the bill to educate their kids. Like it's American tax payers job to educate all the kids in the world. No wonder our education system is failing.

by being in the US illegally, all avenues are closed to him.
he cannot get financial help for college.
cannot get a decent job,
cannot join the military,
nor get a green card,and a visa is asked for before coming to the US,
no license,in other words, since he is illegal? there is nothing that can be done to change his situation.

Your cousin needs to go back to his own country before he is 18 1/2 years old and apply to come back legally. Once that age is attained, he is an adult and responsible for all of his own decisions. Otherwise he is subject to deportation at any time and will have a 10 year ban from coming back.

Being an illegal alien, he cannot join the military and cannot go to college. There is no financial assistance for illegal aliens.

i knew someone in this same situation.

since his parents brought him here as a child, he didn't have a choice but to come illegally. so there may be some help for him - as in, he didn't commit the crime, so someone might help him get citizenship since this is pretty much the only place he knows.

i suggest talking to an expert in immigration law.
