Illegal immigrant help?

My mom brought my cousin up to miami(illegally) from saint.martin/sint maarten the netherlands antilles to attend school at the age of 14.my cousin has been struggling allot with the curriculum since it's different,she even repeated the tenth grade twice.now my cousin is 19 and a senior but not doing so well and is thinking about dropping out of high school and do an online diploma program and then go school for massage therapy,meanwhile my mom applied for citizenship.and my mom is worried that if my cousin drops out of high school and imigration call she might not get a visa or whatever.is this true? if so then what should my cousin do???

Your cousin is an illegal alien and over the age of 18. If she had left the US prior to age 18, her being brought here illegally as a minor child would not have been held against her, and she could have applied for a student visa or immigration if she qualified. Now that she chose, as an adult, to remain here illegally, she must return to her own country and she will be barred from reentry for 10 years. There is NO way to legalize an illegal alien. Her sole choices now are to depart or be deported, which means arrest, detention (jail), deportation.

If your cousin is living under your mom's roof, and/or if your mom assisted her in entering/remaining in the US illegally, your mom is subject to 10 years in prison plus $250,000 fine under the law which prohibits "harboring," "sheltering," "transporting," etc. Get that girl out of your house & out of the country immediately! You can also have your home, car, etc, confiscated!

Ahh your mom is crazy - if your cousin stayed in highschool where she was she would have graduated already. I got into Hofstra University with my grades directly from the Caribbean and never even had to take SAT's - mind you I wouldn't have been able to get into college home since the standards are higher.

Immigration wise, she may have to leave the country anyway. Your aunt can go on www.uscis.gov and see what forms are there that can be used to file for your cousin and they may detail more info. I don't really know I feel bad for you beeing so worried.

Your mom can't apply for a visa for your cousin. An Aunt can't sponsor a niece. Your cousin should go home, where she belongs.

Your cousin is already 19, so dropping out shouldn't affect your mom getting a Visa. Would ever you do, you should really push hard to talk your cousin into staying in school. Those online diploma programs are not the same as having teachers in front of you teach the curriculum.
