Yes, they do pay sales tax, along with income tax as well. They do not get it back. Whether or not they are working under a false social security number has nothing to do with it - the money still comes out of their checks and the government gets to keep it in their pockets. People are only saying that they don't pay income tax because they only want to be able to complain a little more about them. You people should find out the truth before you come on here and try to discuss something you have no clue about.

There are 300,000,000 (Three Hundred Million) people in the US as of the last census, which counts illegals. At $33.33 per person in the US we could reach 10 Billion dollars. I personally do not pay $33.33 in taxes each day, nor do many of the people I know. In fact, out of 300 million people, how many are even old enough to earn and pay taxes. Less than half...so now we are at $66.66 per day in taxes. At 8% sales tax, one would have to spend $832.50 per day to add up that much sales tax. Not too many illegals make that kind of money. If they do, I'll move south and sneak across the border too.

Sure, sales tax for example. If you're working under a "fake" Social Security number you pay into that. Workman's comp which may never be collected because of fear of persecution.

i'm not going to bother to put the time into this that it needs, but the usa does take in more from illegal immigrants than it spends on them. more than eight in ten are paying federal taxes either by owning real estate or through their employer's payroll taxes. the numbers are close, but the federal government is making money off of them.

almost any "solution" proposed to curb immigration would cost americans far more than you're paying now for their medical care, school, etc.

I imagine that most employers of less than legal workers are disinclined to report their worker's earnings to the various tax agencies out there (IRS for federal, FTB for California, etc.) as it would alert the government to the fact that the hired the workers illegally. Therefore, they don't withhold the taxes.

The only tax I know of that is regularly paid by undocumented workers is sales tax (in states/counties that have it).

This is a typical pro-illegal response. The number is entirely bogus because illegals, by their very nature, leave no verifiable trail by which to confirm any arbitrary statements like this. It is also hightly suspect because this equates out to about $4 TRILLION dollars a year, or about $200,000 per year per illegal. You would seriously have us believe that each illegal is making enough to pay almost $17,000 a MONTH in taxes??? Good God! This also works out to about $500 - $600 a DAY in taxes, so I wonder what sort of income they are making, since you would have them paying about 10 times more in taxes than they make.

Anyone who buys anything in the US most likely pays sales taxes, excise taxes, and a whole load of other taxes as well. The simple fact is that almost ALL of the under-the-table money made by illegals is shipped back to Mexico. The illegals are using fake SS numbers, stolen SS numbers, and most of them pay no federal, state or local income taxes because they are paid in cash and file no tax returns. So your statement would be more valid if it addressed the taxes that the illegals AVOID paying.

They do pay taxes but use far more in services.

According to a Florida study done this year, only half pay taxes. Even if all paid taxes, poor people can't pay enough to cover education costs for their families and other services illegals use. That is why we limit how many poor people can come to begin with. If they were a money maker we'd have open borders and just tax everyone.
