You know that when you try to become a citizen if you have been paying taxes while you have been here they use that in favor for you. It looks really good for you. The I.R.S. doesn't care if you're here legally or not. Just as long as you pay your taxes.

Not able to afford to pay tax, then they need to go back to Mexico. If American citizens has to pay, they should also, why give them their wages free, without taxes, they darn sure are not better than American citizens who are sick and tired of carrying the burden of all their freebies. Besides if they stopped sending their money back to Mexico, they could pay their taxes and should. It is wrong for them not to do it, and illegal too. As for as Illegals from Mexico, you do not even want me to get started on that issue, you would not like it.

Wake up no one in this Country has to pay taxes. All of you volunteer to do so when you sign your tax forms. Paying taxes in the USA is strictly a voluntary act on your part. Doesn't anyone read what they sign their name to?

The reason many hire illegals is to skip paying taxes. Taxes are a neccesary thing to provide basic infastructure and defense. The biggest problem third world countries have is taxation. Many especially wealthy do a great job hiding their money so it cannot be taxed hence leading to government without proper funding to have a prosperous economy. Also it is of the responsibility of the tax payer to save funds to pay tax. If he can not afford it is not because he doesn't have the money it is because he used it irresposibly. When it comes to money paying taxes is the first priority.

you know there are Americans that can not afford to pay taxes yet we still do...why should someone that comes to this country illegally expect anything less...they want to be here we expect them to obey the laws..no free rides for anyone..

You don't make any sense. The illegals are here working jobs just like we are. They should be the ones paying MORE tax than we have to pay, for the privilege of them even being here. Especially when they have done it illegally. Everyone talks about their rights and they don't have any right to be here.

They don't pay their taxes .. duh .. employers don't give checks to illegal immigrant they give them cash so they don't pay any tax. The Americans lose both ways... in employers not paying taxes and the employee not filing taxes cuz they are getting it under the table.

OK, bring it to the "bare bones"...... People who live beneath the poverty level are actually "rewarded" on their income tax -the earned income credit is a perfect example.

Illegals are using FAR more services than people making a middle wage income. Going by memory, we're actually paying something like 25 - $30K per illegal - those are OUR tax dollars at work. When they actually file a tax return under the IRS guidelines and make believe tax ID number, kick that number up another $2500.00.......

Aside from the myth that strawberries will somehow cost $10 a carton (every logical study proves otherwise), deporting every single illegal invader will save the average American household thousands per year.

Anybody that says the illegal aliens are paying taxes is full of crap! They don't have a SS# so how can they pay taxes? Most are paid cash "under the table." This means there is no employment taxes paid by the "employee" or the employer. They don't pay income taxes. Whatever sales tax or property taxes paid, through their rent, is minimal. The Heritage Foundation estimated that if you took all the taxes they pay, their estimate seemed REALLY HIGH, and compaired it to the services they receive (e.g., health care, eduation, etc...) taxpayer have to shell out over $22,400 per year for each family.

Say that they become citizens through amnesty (UGH). We will still have to pay 10s of 1,000s of dollars for them. In addition, they would probably be eligible for tax credits (AKA free money). We would be paying more and they still wouldn't be paying enough taxes to cover their services.

The American taxpayer can't afford the illegal aliens - they are destroying our economy. This is not an opinion, it is fact.

Everyone should have to pay income taxes. The employers who hire illegals and pay them under the table are as much criminals as are the illegals, themselves. These employers should be charged to the maximum by law when they are found to be doing this. Income taxes do not only go to social security. Taxes are what fund all the infrastructure (roads, schools, hospitals, welfare, etc.) of the country. It is not fair for people to be using the services that have been funded by the taxpaying citizens, without also contributing their fair share towards these same services via paying income taxes. The sorry thing is that because the majority of the illegal immigrants have little or no education or skills and so will always be at the bottom of the barrel for wages, even if they were actually legalized in their residency status so that they could pay income taxes, they would actually get back refunds of more than they paid in. They all need to be removed from the country. Our own poor legal citizens should be doing those jobs rather than collecting welfare.

Our tax laws in fact take into account what people make in deciding how much they should pay. Poor people pay little. If they think they should be the only ones who shouldn't have to pay, they should try a different country.

Poor people don't make enough money to pay in tax for services their families use like $10,000 per child per year to educate a child in California, for example. We pay that and stretch our children's school funds and overcrowd our children's schools to cover those here because their parents came illegally.

THAT is the huge problem with illegal immigration. We subsidize services for the poor. We give between one and two million visas out for immigrants every year. THAT is our limit, and stretches our schools and services, right there.

As for illegals, their better life is at our expense and at the expense of our children's futures.

I just read in the paper last week that illegals are RUSHING to pay taxes NOW, because they think it will help them become citizens!! So, this indicates that they have NEVER paid federal and state income taxes before!
What a lot of people don't realize, is that even if these people DO become citizens and pay taxes, they willl still cost us more in social services than anything they pay in taxes! Also,at the end of the year, these people will get BACK more than anything they might pay in, becaue of the Earned Income Tax credit! This extra money will come form the checks of the TAXPAYERS!

There are many "legal citizens" of the United States who do not pay taxes. The Internal Revenue Service and other state and local agencies aren't hunting these people down.

I lived for 25 years in a very small Ozark rural community and knew many who had lived there before I got there who had never filed an income tax return! These people were farmers, mechanics who only took cash, people cutting timber and selling their products for only cash. If you have never filed a Federal or State Income Return, and all your transactions are in cash, how is the Federal or state governments agencies going to track you down! They don't have enough people for that.

People coming into the United States with no intention of ever becoming citizens, working only for cash, will continue to "fall under the tax radar". There is no tax legislation that will ferret out individual legal or illegal immigrants who have never filed Federal or state income taxes.

It is a mistake to tie illegal immigration to "individual" tax laws. Monitor those who are hiring illegal immigrants. If they want to hire illegals, fine; but, tax those employers at a rate twice that of employers who do not hire illegals.

As to the matter of being able to afford to pay taxes, Federal and state governments don't care. If you owe it, and they know you owe it, they will come after you.

Many of them have a tax ID number issued by the IRS. They use this to pay taxes and file.

mexicans pay taxes just like everyone else they buy a TV they pay taxes .........................They shouldn't pay social because they are not gonna get the benefits of retirement.!!
