No it is not fair, at all no one has the right to violate our laws and borders. This should be made a felony and treated as such. Also employers of illegals should go to prison, this would help eliminate the magnet that draws them.

The issue is illegal immigration. I dont care if they are from Mexico, Malaysia, or Mars.

However over half of them are from Mexico; 70% are Latino.

And they are all criminals who should be arrested, jailed and then deported.

No it is not fair. I think we should encourage people from across the pond to hijack airplanes and boats etc.. and storm our shores in the dead of night. Apparently many of the lazy anti-American citizens who think that illegals should be rewarded with free health care and jobs as well as amnesty from paying taxes, will be over joyed when some of these better educated illegals take there jobs and leave them unemployed and homeless like many blue colar families.

I suggest you educate yourself before trashing a whole group of people. If you were in dire poverty and your children in danger of starving- I would suggest show me the stats where in Mexico people are in danger of starving and the Gov is doing nothing and the Churches are doing nothing and tell me how can a family actually be in danger of straving and at the same time can actually travel thousands of miles going without food for weeks or months as it is and still be able to do physical manual labor? Another question if they are in such dire poverty why do they continue to expand their families, do they think the loaves and fish are gonna fall down from the sky ? At what point do people who have more kids than they can feed and continue to have more kids, begin to feel the responsibility and take the responsibility for their attitudes towards life - instead of walking around feeling sorry for themselves ? Tell me how do Mexicans go months without food and still can travel and work 12 hrs a day with no problem ?

Actually your right it isn't fair. The real question is weather we are a county of laws or just a mob. Illegals fill our jails, emergency rooms, schools, and take our jobs. In the mist of an economic crisis its time to decide to get ride of them the money would be better spent than giving AIG a bailout. No one wants them except a bunch of bleeding heart liberals who voted in the communist who is now president. The county needs to actively enforce its immigration laws. The child of an illegal cannot be legal since they are here illegally. It about time we take the bull by the horn and deal with problem.

They come here because the Democrats let them. They don't mind giving them all that you mentioned. Now someone who has been living here their whole life, who may need a break, is told to get a job, and get it fast or they will lose all of what you mentioned.

Also I"m tired of you people saying "they take our jobs", "they get free medical care and schooling" blah blah blah! Well if your lazy butts weren't scared of getting your hands dirty and hurt they wouldn't be! Also do you honestly know any illegal Mexicans who have free medical care cause the last I checked you have to pay for it! I honestly can say I know a whole bunch off illegal Mexicans and NONE of any kind of FREE MEDICAL CARE! So how come the ones that "you know" or excuse me you don't know have free help cause gosh I sure haven't heard of it! People from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, South America etc. do come here. We even had some lately who came from Iraq. I don't know details, but the indication was that they were not terrorists.
They are still detained, doubt they will ever be able to touch American soil again (unless you consider the detention center free American soil.)
They are smuggled into Mexico and then here. We have a number of Chinese who come across the river with smugglers; I live in a Texas border town. You are right that most are Mexican or Central American.

The real problem is that some American companies hire them. There is a computer program which will check all ID's to prevent stolen or fake ones. It is called e-verify. Over 100,000 companies use it, but many don't. At one point it was proposed to require all companies having anything to do with the federal government (That's almost everyone!)to use it. That was opposed by some American companies and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Why? because the program might make mistakes. Not very likely,and there is an easy and fast way to correct mistakes.

I have a relative whose company requires him to use it. He told about some applicant having a SS number that was used by 42 people, others who were working in California and Florida at the same time (fast mover!), and one whose photo looked nothing like him. The program gives work history, photo, and validity of any ID. It is the answer to many of our immigrant problems.

Insist that all companies use this; it is even free to businesses. Check it out.
Of course, there would still be off book payments and other ways to cheat (maybe even new ones!).

Do you hear anyone insisting that all businesses use this? I don't. My relative even owns a personnel franchise on the border. He can find legal people to work. He believes that it is a valid tool; it would be to his self interest to hire illegals. He has no intention of doing that. Other companies do not feel that way.

I agree that we are supporting too many; however, if they couldn't find jobs, they wouldn't come. I have been to MX many times and know that it is a country of the rich and poor. I feel sorry for them but know that we cannot take care of the world.
As you have heard, we have a serious problem with a spill over of the MX gangs. Almost all who are wounded/killed are involved in illegal activities.
Not all. (A few years ago, a gang of 5 killed 4 barmaids, case of mistaken identities. All the women were innocent of any gang activities.) I fear that more innocents will be harmed.

your question really reveals how much of an ignorant person you are, how can you possibly even say that without not having no knowledge whatsoever concerning maybe the conditions they have to live in , the poverty, most people come to u.s because of the fact that they want a better life , they're at risk everyday with getting deported but they come to this country in order to make a living and get somewhere in life, they're trying HARD . really , your statement quite frankly offended a numerous amount of people, and maybe next time you should think more wisely about what you want to say and how you're going to say it. and just to let you know, illegal immigrants come from all over the world, not JUST mexico.

I have no problem with them. I have problem with people regardless of their legal status that are freeloaders. Cannot we let the hard working immigrants stay while kick out the lazy Americans?

You think they like living in constant fear, having to work for meager wages and being abused at work with threats of being reported? You think they like leaving their kids behind. They are desperate people!

They rarely get free medical care for fear of being found out. If they have a job where they pay taxes, they don't claim the refund because they don't want to get caught. Likewise, a lot of them don't send their children to school for the same reason.

They rarely are given the right to due process, so I don't know why you think they are claiming foul. They have the same rights every other person in this country has and if they are being treated unlawfully, then they should have the right to have something done about it. They aren't asking for special treatment. They are asking for the treatment allowed to them under the law.

Illegal immigration is not limited to people from Mexico.
