This is all trash to get the focus on illegal immigrants. The economy is going to hell because of a trillion dollar deficit from the pointless war and that is incomparable compared to the millions illegals mooch off the health care system.

The rate of illegal immigration has not changed, yet all the stories suddenly switched to illegal immigrant problems in the news. This is a political switch for when blame time comes and the economy is doing horrible, people will blame immigrants instead of the massive accumulated debt killing our soldiers to protect some random countries oil for exxon.

illegals work cheap. The companies get more profits. The companies have to pay more taxes. Taxes pays the illegals healthcare. Blame the companies that employ them cheap if you have a problem with that and demand they give them healthcare like any citizen. Right now they work for slave labor prices and get hurt, just like anyone else.

The fence will be the largest most vandalized project ever and a waste of tax money. Immigrants what a better life forever. Fences won't stop them.

Today in the books it is still illegal in downtown LA to shoot rabbits from a stagecoach,transit your horse without a poop retainer and to commit suicide on the sidewalk. I think a person of average intelligence realizes that all laws have validity only in proportion to their ethics and morality.We have laws that protect minorities, gays, odd religions, and even criminals from ostracism and cruel forms of punishment and persecution. What? Illegal immigrants are inhuman and do not deserve the protection of the laws of a Democracy? What happened to the criers of human rights? What happened to the American Indians and the illegal British immigrants?
I want security,but not at the expense of a blanket criminalization of people.

You know that is a very good question. US economy is helped by illegals but there are other stuff that is bad for the US. One thing is shure. I am a legal mexican and I try to look at it from both sides. some one said that Illigal mex. are destroying culture. what the hell, USA has barely any culture/history(no offense) so they might as well be adding to it.I really cannot take sides.

Excuse me, but you do actively research each and every item of clothing that you wear, piece of food that you eat, and consumer item that you purchase to ensure it wasn't made by illegal immigrants? If you are willing to support companies that employ illegal workers, then you're "just as bad" as the illegals.

Granted, in a country run by Democrats for far too long that gave us this "bleeding heart" welfare state, it is true that some of the illegals are doing jobs that Americans won't due. Do you expect one of those couch potatoes, getting their welfare check, sitting there watching their free cable TV while talking on there free cell phone in their Hud funded home is going to give up their ADC, WICK or other programs, not to mention their "earned income" rebate check, to take a job at a lousy $25.00 an hour to clean up hurricane trash in the gulf? I live just across the border from Mexico,I know first hand what goes on in Mexico, The government of Mexico does not take care of it's own people. As the old saying goes thru the years if you see a dead person lying on the street on the mexican side run, don't walk because they are going to say that you did it. Which is very true. There are plenty of innocent people in their prisons because the police from that country are presumably commiting a lot of crimes all over Mexico, because they belong to the drug cartel. Do we want those people over here? I for one do not defend any illegal, but do you blame them, there is no life in that country, just for the higher ups who are egging the illegals to exercise their rights so, that they can send their money to their country.

[people don't understand that we can't just open our borders to whom ever wishes to come to the US. We don't have the resources to support the services that those coming to the US will need, and or expect. It is to some degree about money, I will not deny that, only it's about the money that the average American, like myself, pays for others to have services given to them for free, but which those who are paying for these free services, can't afford them for themselves.

Anyone of even average intelligence can easily differentiate between the laws regarding true crimes against humanity and another human being wanting a better life for him/herself. The goose and the gander 'routine' does not apply to the argument of individuals who do not take a stance against illegal immigrants also not standing up against other illegal acts.

Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.

My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.

They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.

I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.

If you go to a country and refuse to assimilate, continuing to speak your own language then you are really not an immigrant -- you're a colonist ... and that's what the Mexicans are doing, they're colonizing the American Southwest as part of their "reconquista" Read about mecha in the link I provided and you'll see what the Mexicans real agenda is.

Today the top 5% of income earners in the U.S. pay 54% of the federal income taxes. The top 10% pay 66% percent of the federal income tax. If these business people weren't taxed so much money to fund government bureaucrats, who push around paper and pencils all day, and welfare recipients, etc... maybe they would have the resources to raise salaries and offer better incentives to entice AMERICANS to do the jobs that illegals are doing now. Hopefully the illegals would go back to their own countries and try to clean up the mess that they left - dictatorship!

I am not defending an illegal immigrant. I am a legal immigrant (not to the USA). It is illegal to break into a house, so it is illegal to break into a country. Very simple. Apply the legal way and there is no problem afterwards.

Illegal is wrong. They came to this country by breaking the law; There are laws to allow & to limit all the different nationalities to come to USA for a reason. A few years ago the immigration laws (that are still laws) started being relaxed because too hard to inforce, now we
