54percent of illegals in the US are from Mexico. It's a fact. And until Mexico and Mexicans take personal responsibility and accountability to make the necessary fiscal, social and governance changes that will make Mexico liveable for all its citizens....this crap will continue.

Their lack of personal responsibility and accountability to fix a problem....and just plain exporting it to a new locale and country......is the problem.

My grandparents, great-grandparents etc, were FAR FAR POORER than any modern person in a poor country on these two continents.

Did you know that, for example, Mexico has a US$1.3 TRILLION dollar GDP and is the 12th RICHEST nation on earth?

Did you know that they have more than 18 BILLION barrels of know petroleum reserves? That the expansion of their middle class has out-paced that of most Eastern European countries since 2000? That they have some of the world's most enviable coastline and mildest climates?

And, yes, they can TOO get a visa. I have plenty of friends who have.

Ten years ago, before I was thrust into the realities of this topic, I often said the same sort of thing you just did.

You know, I do feel sympathy for these people... but I also feel sympathy for Americans too. There are two sides to every story, and when you sum it all up American people sorta take the sh*t end of the stick.
Life is hard, and we don't always get what we want. The laws are in place for a reason... and the reason isn't to keep people down, it's to protect people. OF COURSE the law is biased towards Americans... BECAUSE WE ARE IN AMERICA! American tax dollars are meant to support American people, not Mexican people. We do our share to help Mexico, but they have to start fixing their own problems...

*edit* ever hear that saying "nip it at the bud" America cannot fix the problem by granting amnesties or just letting Mexicos excess population populate our country. We have to get to the root of the problem, and the root of the problem is Mexico. Google "immigration gumballs" This is a serious issue. America can't support an unlimited amount of people!

I would. I could not bear to see my family starve. And yea, it is very possible to get a visa. Im married to a mexican who I met here, legally. He had a visa.

Poor people take more in services for their families than they can pay in taxes. That is why every country in the world that subsidizes its poor people limit how many poor immigrants can come. The fact that the quota from their country is more than filled just means we are already subsidizing more than we ever agreed to, at the expense of our own. It doesn't mean all the world's poor that we haven't authorized has some right to come illegally and have us pay for them and take their children into our children's overcrowded, underfunded schools.

If we were trying to come to their country illegally to make them pay for our children's education at the expense of their own children's education, in schools their families had built and funded, I am sure they would be equally outraged.

The problem is that there in no sympathy for these people but they had the opportunity to make a success of mexico and they screwed it. They have a bad track record of the fear is that America too will be another Mexico if they become the dominate culture and you liberal do no see this danger for the sympathy factor. Would you let someone into your house you felt sorry for if they had leprosy? I do not think so. Here in Texas illegal Mexicans are killing our economy in requireing taxpaying citizens to foot the bill for the failed society in Mexico. Instead of blameing the US citizens why not rail against the El Presidente of Mexico to treat his people better?

how dare you defend someone who has created an illegal act toward the us? it does not matter whether he had good intentions or not, the fact is that 30% of prisons are filled with illegal aliens... why defend 10 illegals when 3 are going to commit crimes? sure, some cross to get jobs and support a family, but when they go to the hospital, they dont pay for it, YOU DO... they dont even pay taxes... we have 15-20 million illegal immigrants in this country and not 1 of them is paying taxes, that to me is a crime.. they are cheating the us legal system

Actually - I think people really want to live and work and raise their families - in their own country. Unfortunately, their country does not provide for their own people; there is little hope for prosperity; there are no plans for achievement, goals, or the betterment of their citizens. They are forced to seek a life elsewhere. What should happen is - their govenment should be pressured and forced by the citizens of that country to force them into doing their duty as officials and get off their @zzes to promote a better life, more opportunities - build their country instead of running. PRESSURE YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT to do the right thing.

I don't hate anyone, but I do not want people here unless they have a right to be here. They need to follow our laws and come here the legal way. If I were in their position, I would find out what I had to do to come here legally. If they don't want to do this, then they can go home.

So you are saying if pressed by hardship it is o.k. to break the law read your question over and see how silly it really is there are a lot of things that are illegal that I could do to make my families life better and other people would suffer for my actions and that is what is happening here ie: crime,hardship for people who pay taxes, etc

Maybe the people marching in our streets making demands of us like we are their dogs should talk to you before their next protest marches.

Getting a visa is possible because lots of people get visa's every year. There goes that excuse, what else ya got.
I am not a criminal and no I would not invade another nation illegally for my gain because it's wrong and illegal. I would save my money, stay out of trouble to pas the background check and wait my turn by pursuing legal avenues of immigration.

Illegals come here illegally because they don't want to wait or find it "too hard"...whatever. That's almost as pathetic as morons that think that everyone is a law breaker and would illegally invade other nations.

It just comes down that some people are more ethical...more moral than others. There are always those who can justify their crimes. "I sell drugs because no one will give me a job." "I robbed the bank because I wanted a better life for my family." It comes down to the fact that either you do right or you do wrong.

My conscience wouldn't allow me to stoop so low as to try to justify wrong. Apparently, there are some who have no problem with it. Don't count me in that number. I'm better than that.

Oh, and I have YET to see a starving illegal alien.

the only people who can get into this country illegally is the Spanish population nobody else seems to be able to do this. i am an American citizen everybody else has to wait for a visa what makes them think they are the only people who wants and needs a chance to dream the American dream.

Of course I would. Especially being a mother, I would do anything to protect and feed my child. But then I have never proclaimed to walk on water like some of them would have you think they do.
