An influx of illegal immigrants often brings a rise in violent crime, creates a language barrier and ghettoizes parts of cities. Not to mention the incredible costs involved to the taxpayer (which illegals are not).
This is no reason to condone violence towards them, they must be dealt with through the law and not the mob.

I don't know anyone who hates them but I know a lot of people don't like them because:

1) they don't pay taxes. the rest of us work just as hard but have to pay taxes.
2) they collect government assistance - i.e. welfare, food stamps, social security, medicare
3) they're causing our population to dramatically increase
4) many fail to assimilate into our society
5) They're here illegaly and it's a breach of our nations security - they should have to do like all the other legal immigrants do

You missed a few things.

They marched in May with Mexican flags and demanded our rights freedoms and futures, they still protest for lawlessness. They have a master plan with La Raza organization 'The Master Race' to say for the race everything, for everyone else, nothing. They want land back for Mexico. They want to get as many illegal voters to register to further Mexico's interests. They call us everything from racist to murderes of their ancestors. They demand what doesn't belong to them, and what do yo expect us to do kiss them in the street?

First you say, it's wrong for them to come over without the proper paperwork, and then you contradict yourself by saying, "they just want a better life." Those that choose to follow the law, and go through the legal process, and wait for years, want better lives too, but they respect America's laws, and sovernty enough to wait, and go through the legal chanels. I don't hate them, however I do hate what they're doing to this country. It's impossible to ignore the fact that they've broken a law just entering this country. We have laws for a reason and they need to be enforced. Selective law enforcement is not acceptable.

I don't want them to get education and services at the expense of my own children receiving adequate education and services, particularly when I am one of the ones paying to subsidize their costs for these services. Even if they pay all taxes, poor people pay very little of what it costs to provide them with these services. Poor people are taxed less than people who are not poor. That is why we have limits on immigration of poor people, and is why we need limited immigration and need to enforce our laws.

However, I agree that the tone of the debate shouldn't include 'shoot them all' kind of comments. I think a number of those are by illegal supporters who want to make this look like a race issue (as if 'illegal' was a race). However, some may be legitimately from those opposed to illegal immigration. They, as well as the insults about 'fat lazy whites with no culture' I have seen from the illegal supporter side should both be avoided.

That is a touchy issue. Due to the fact that many Americans that "hate illegals" don't realize once they leave America, they are also consider illegals.

I am from the caribbean and trust me there are a lot of illegal Americans working on my island and also doing crime if I may add.

It is quite easy to see why they are treated that way when you see the impact they have.

I used to make good money working as a construction worker. I was let go because my employer can hire illegal immigrants at less than half what I get paid. Not only does he pay them less, but he doesn't have to pay insureance for them as well.

Many schools in my area are facing budget problems becuase they are forced to teach childern who's parents are in the country illegally. Not only do the schools have to hire Spanish speaking teachers, but since the parents are illegal, they pay no taxes into the system to support the school budget.

We recently had a hospital in our area close its emergency room facility due to the fact that more than 70% of the ER patients were illegal immigrants who were unable to pay for the medical bills.

That being said, it is quite easy for people have resentment towards illegal immigrants.

When I decided to emmigrate to the United States the first thing I did was learn to speak English. I took the time to learn about American History and Government. I filled out all the papers and took my citizenship exam. I think it is easy to get upset when I see illegal immigrants demanding the same rights as citizens while doing nothing to support the country.
