Illegal are not just working in the fields and meat packing companies they are in management. Due to language and culture difficulties with American managers they have in many place used these people thinking it will make dealing with this problem more effective.
On the downside these managers are not following the health guide line that have been used in the past. In fact they are finding most aren't using any and no fines are being imposed on the companies so no incentive to make them comply. Just like not fining them for hiring illegals.LOL
There has been a number of complaints to congress on this issue over the last few years falling on deaf ears. Whats new?
A bill in congress right now wants consumers to be more responsible for what they purchase by asking questions. LOL

Did you know that there are simpletons who actually believe such nonsense key word non--sense. What is causing this bactieria is everyones guess or else why would it have to be studied and traced down to a source BOO-HOO on the plague of ignorance that still exists .

I really don't know if this was caused by illegals crapping in the fields or not, but it would not be in their best interests to do something like this on purpose. If we continue to have outbreaks of disease that can be associated with them nobody will let them do this type of work anymore. I do think it's interesting that this happened with spinach, as I've never heard of it being a favorite dish of hispanics, legal or illegal.

For those who still did not read the article on this subject, this bacteria could not be washed off even with soap.

I think that if veggies (lettuce, spinach, carrots and maybe water too) have E. Coli it's due to the low quality and health standards in USA. Have you heard about E. Coli on veggies from Canada or Mexico?
