There is no upside...
you'll hear people say "they can do the jobs cheaper" - great, but they're not paying income taxes and they are taking a job away from someone who does.
Then there's "they do jobs no one else wants"...which is so not true...late last year a meat packing plant was raided in Denver - and legal workers lined up around the block to apply for the jobs. |

Regarding the false assertion that illegals are taking jobs that U.S. citizens will not do.
If you take a look at the percentages of illegals/citizens performing ANY job category, the illegals always form less that 50%.
Therefore, it is only correct to say that illegals are taking jobs which U.S. citizens WILL AND DO do. |

Nothing offsets the billions we have to pay out with our tax dollars for their free education and health care, fraud, stealing identities, depressed wages, hospitals and businesses going under, and finally, breaking the law by being here illegally. I'm sick of hearing that they do jobs that American's wont.
American's would do them if we eliminated most of the welfare programs that exist today. Additionally if more were paid to do those jobs American's would do them. |

Obviously there are up sides, for some, or they wouldn't be doing it. They include:
Higher proffit margins for dishonest businessmen.
Stimulating the economy of Mexico via remittances.
Every minority baby of an illegal is a US citizen and can statistically be expected to grow up to vote Democrat (taking the long view, there). Amnesty would get the same sort of up-side, just much sooner.
Growing population masks economic malaise.
Growing population keeps Social Security solvent a little longer (yes, even if some illegals don't pay into it, just the fact that they're having citizen 'anchor babies' who will pay in, later, helps).
Depresses wages making American goods and services more competative in the world market.
Advances the cause of Aztlan.
Encourages acceptance of draconian law enforcement (Big-Brother stuff, like real ID). Up side for the more totalitarian of our leaders.

Of course. The inmigration have positive side.
Without the hard work of the immigrants the economy of USA not out of the first world. USA needs of the work of the immigrants; the economy need this.
My desire is that all us immigrants could return to our native countries. That our governments in lationamerica, have good works for us, good economy. We could live very well in our countries. Because to live in a country as USA, where there is very much racism, its not good.
I imagine the american women working cleaning houses and the men as gardeners or washing cars. The american people dont like these works.
Many Latin immigrants are professional (engineers, doctors of medicine, economists, managers, architects and others). In The United States, we the Latin people must study many more that you to obtain a good work. Manny latin people have 2 o 3 job.
I am economist. If all the immigrants return to them countries, in The United States there will be economic recession. The salary are going to increase but the prices of the products and services also were increasing. More inflation and very much unemployment (more that 10 o 20 %). This escenary is terrible, but its true. The Americans do not like the hard work. |

Sure is positive from the point of view of the illegal inmigrants and the people who support them. for ex. inmigration lawyers and counselors,: they are making huge profits $$$ , also the companies who send money from US to the other countries, the moving companies, corrupt business owners, "coyotes" and the list goes on. and on..........When someone is loosing something....someone is making money. ( in mexico ) ?
