Find answers to your legal question.

Im a I-130 visa overstayer and i was wondering when should i receive my green card when i applied in 2001.?

ok well i am the child of the couple who filed the petition and i am wondering because i want to go to college and go on with my life but this is holding me back to reach my full potential.
also im do not have a big grasp on this topic and my parents dont inform me a lot on this subject, so this is my reason for asking.
Additional Details
well my parents are both citizens of the usa and no my parents are not holders of a green card or citizens and they filed the I-130 in november 2001. i had a travelers visa when i entered this country and yes i still have my passport.

Well, were your parents citizens when they filed the I-130 for you? You may not know all the facts, but the ones you present are contradictory. you say in the same sentence, "my parents are both citizens of the US" and "no, my parents are not holders of a green card or citizens." Obviously both statements can't be true, so which is it? I think you're asking the wrong people and you need to have a long chat with your parents to figure out what's really going on and get a few facts together. If you can do that, come back and ask again.

Edit: ok, so your grandparents are citizens and filed a petition for you and your family. That would fall into the F3 family preference category. If the petition was filed in 2001, it's not yet valid. At the moment, only F3 petitions filed on or before 8 August 2000 are valid, or current, for most citizens anyway. If you're Filipino or Mexican, the wait will be much longer, about 9 years longer for Filipinos. At the moment, though you appear to be here illegally.

I-130 is NOT a visa. I-130 is an application form that's filed by a US Citizen or Green Card holder to bring another member of the immediate family to the United States.

What is your age?
What is your citizenship?
Are your parents US Citizens or Green Card holders?
When (month and year) did they file the I-130 for you?
What kind of visa did you have when you arrived in the United States?
Do you still have the passport and I-94 that was issued upon your arrival?

Since your parents are now citizens, if you are unmarried and under age 21, you should file an application for adjustment status (I-485).
See uscis.gov for the form and instructions.
