Quite difficult to get working visa at this time.
How long can you stay? Well if you want and as long as you have some other place to go you can spend at least 6 months of the year there, and you might ask the consulate how long you have to stay away to return.
As I read the info online they say you cannot stay more than six months, but specify no "reentry limits" -- that may not be true but if it is you'd just go to France for a weekend and come back for six more months. But don't tell them you are coming to live in the UK or anything like that.
You could not work however.
If you are young enough and skilled enough consider Ireland, where you can get a green card if you can find a good enough job and qualify for permanent residence in two years. Employment currently is dismal though. Eventually you could be an Irish citizen and then live anywhere in the EU. |

Firstly, the 2 million unemployed will not necessarily get a job before you do, if you have skills and qualifications then you are just as likely to get work as anyone.
However, immigrating to England whilst easier than some countries still does not allow you just to simply move there.
Which immigration route were thinking off?
A work visa? A family visa?
You will need some entitlement, not just wanting to go. |
