Immigration, Fiance Visa, Purchasing Home With a Green Card

I am U.S. Citizen, next year I am planning on applying for a fiance visa for my husband to be and get married in America and apply for his green card. After my husband gets his green card, he wants to purchase a home (pay it off completely with cash) and then the two of us will travel back to our home country (Pakistan) and stay there. The house that my husband buys here in U.S will be for me to come back here, stay in, have my kids and eventually for the two of us move to U.S permanently. We don't know the ins and outs of buying a house, weather my husband can even buy a house here or not, and if he can buy a home, what is the process, what are the legalities and taxes related to this situation. Can he buy a house under his name soon after he gets his green card? I have no idea, please help.
