Immigration, Permanent Resident Traveling for businesses. How often can I travel?

I am a Permanent Resident (LPR) and I have lost my full time job, therefore, I am contemplating the possibility of a business. I will have to travel outside the US often, 2 weeks every month for a couple of months and then probably 2-3 weeks every 2 months or so.
Is it possible for a Permanent Resident to travel that often for Personal Business purposes without affecting my LPR? If so, How can I justify it?
Also, I am still planing to work on some consulting jobs in USA when in here.

It shouldn't be a problem really. I know they tend to be bothersome if you leave the country in a 2 month span, because they flipped out at me when I did that last summer visiting some family I have in Europe. The immigration guy actually stated "If you wanna be a citizen here, why are you somewhere else for two months doesn't make much sense to me". I have read in the immigration website that a period of 5 or more months in a different country can hinder your chances of getting your citizenship and actually add on from those months you were away... Essentially thou you should be all set |
