Well you are going from the sublime to the ridiculous, there has always been immigration...why do you think we are called Anglo saxon and not just Anglo...where do you think Saxons come from? Yes I would miss the diversity....but yes, there should be a limit on immigration....if only to safeguard jobs and prevent housing prices going through the roof.

I don't mind other people coming here, but there is a limit. Wages have gone down to the minimum wage for a lot of jobs, there is a shortage of housing, the NHS is under strain. We are told by the Government that there are 600,000 job vacancies that need filling, over a million have come here in the past few years, and there are still 600,000 job vacancies. It is just cheap labour to keep the companies happy.

It would be bliss not to have the continuing influx of ethnic (soon not to be) minorities, to OUR country......i say soon not to be, as i can see a time where they will be in the majority. It would be nice if we could have the takeaways run by the uk british white person....now there is a thought eh. I love foreighn food...but not the foreighners who brought it here in the first place.......after all thats all they have given thats possitive to this country, when you think about it. On the down side they have given us, violence, etc...how many times do we see in the paper about an asian causing problems for the white man........BNP here i come

I could do without the mosques though, I've been at the recieving end of Islamic abuse before. They WON'T integrate, and are currently more trouble than they are worth.

We're generally okay with a low level of immigration. Good for us and them. But the estimate is that we'll be a minority group in London by 2050, and that's not good. It's a recipe for conflict if the locals started feeling swamped.

Wouldnt bother me in the slightest. Infact, i think i would be quite happy about it! The amount of immigrants in this country is p*****g me off so im consideing moving to the other side of the world! Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against them, but i was very close to punching one a couple of weeks ago, and if i did, i would of probably been done for racial attack!
Its all the governments fault. Too many people, too politically correct!

watched a DVD the other night "goodnight mr tom" based in 1940's england and i thought-"oh how i wished i lived in those days-thats when england WAS england".

for lee.-official crime statisitcs for england scotland and wales showed that 67% of offences were committed by members of the ethnic minorities (2006-07)-this equates to a 67% drop in the crime rate if they simply weren't here-even allowing for the fact that the crime rate would creep back up that would still be nowhere as bad as 67%.

who do you think pays for the benefits/subsidised council tax/NHS resources they claim=we do out of our wages-via taxation.

as for street beggars-come to nottingham sometime-and be prepared to be shocked (although it has admittedly been nowhere near as bad since the council started coming down on them-but they still try)

you are suggesting one extreme, compared to the fast approaching other extreme that worries many. How about a nice balance, a kind of middle way, where we welcome immigrants - in the right proportion, and provided they work and respect our way of life etc? I think the majority of people would really welcome such an approach.

A multi cultured Britain is a good thing. Racism of any kind is a terrible injustice and those who have racist views tend to have little intellect. However the call for tight controls on immigration is correct and the cost to the tax payer is set to increase more than ever due to the Lisbon treaty that was signed by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown without our permission. This in effect gives foreign nationals more access to the UK. The British tax payer will have to foot the bill for immigrants not just on UK welfare but on European welfare. Current estimates say that each tax payer will have to pay a further Â£200 + in European tax as early as 2009. In the UK this will be added to other taxes to hide the true costs of our membership. Wanting tight controls on immigration is not racist it is economic.

WOW!!! I am imagining that kind of UK. It sounds good for a moment until you really think about it. I know it has got really bad with immigration and such here but I think this would be going too far. I mean this would include Americans, Australians and Canadians too and they are hardly foreign and speak English.

Where would I stand on this one? I am not really an Anglo-Saxon because my family originates from Wales. I grew up in England and say I am English, Welsh or British but I am not Anglo-Saxon. The Scots and Irish would be in the same boat as me here. I guess you must be English (not a criticism) to refer to the entire UK as Anglo-Saxon.

I think it would make the UK a bit dull because some immigrants bring great ideas, cultures and food from their native country. I mean an evening out to dinner would be what - a plate of egg and chips - YUCK!! At least now we have a wide choice of some fantastic food. Italians would have to be allowed in. Could do without Chinese takeaways but not their wonderful restaurants.

Some of the best medical professionals are from India, Pakistan and Africa. Surely they would have to stay?

No Europeans? Then we would all have to move out! We are Europeans as much as that may upset the British it is a fact. If you are an Anglo-Saxon then you most certainly are European - where do you think they came from? What about all the Britons that are moving to places like Spain and France and taking over whole areas. I take it they would have to return to this new Anglo-Saxon utopia? Why would any other country in the world welcome us if we closed the door to all foreigners?

I like the idea of no mosques because I cannot stand religion and would be happy to see that removed completely.

Rather than this kind of UK I would prefer one where we did not have to watch everything we said, we could be proud of our culture, where political correctness did not exist, where immigrants had to integrate and learn our culture rather than the other way around and those that trash the UK and its people just left. The English or Anglo-Saxons should be allowed to fly their flag like the Scots and Welsh without being condemned for it. I have dreamed of your UK many times but in reality we do not ever want to kick out and keep out all foreigners. We just need to get more backbone and fight back against the anti-British/English people (I stated English because I believe they get more completely unnecessary stick than the Welsh and Scottish) and not stand to see our culture removed in favour of foreign ones.

I think perhaps even the Welsh, Scots and Irish that trash England and the English should be thrown out of England. People that love and respect England, Scotland and Wales should always be welcomed no matter whether they come from within the UK or outside. It is all about respect and showing respect to people in their own country.

We should always be judged individually and not as a group. You get your "Anglo-Saxons" in Wales trashing us - my response is just go back to England then - simple. The same happens from the Scots and Welsh towards the English - then stay out of England - it is so simple and yet so many do not grasp the concept. If you hate a place stay away because you will not be missed.

Be proud to be English, be proud of England, fly your St. George flag, embrace your culture, enforce your language, defend your nation and its great history and achievements but never go as far as closing the door. As a Welsh/Englishman I know which country I prefer but unfortunately it is not the one exercising its pride at this moment whereas the other one is going over the top with it, i.e own parliament and growing more insular and anti its neighbouring country - very sad and ignorant!

I don't see getting rid of all the immigrants stops Chinese takeaways and Indian takeaways, we have the recipes, continue in making them. And not only that they contribute to the obesity problem we're having in this country today.

It would be peaceful. call me racist I really feel that the costs of having foreigners in the country out weigh the benefits. In an ideal world there would be some certain nationalities you would like to keep in and some you would like to frankly just disappear. But this isn't an ideal world, so it's either all or nothing that goes.............

That's expecting somewhere in the region of 50-100 generations of pure, anglo-saxon breeding... doesn't happen, not enough Anglo-saxon people in the first place to make it so - unless what you are saying is that you're an inbred? We would have to say good bye to our music industry, media industry, bbc, and films we may make... goodbye to the entirety of London and the position in the world it affords us, what else is there... pretty much any and all jobs and industry this country may have or have had, any advancement from the last 1000 or so years. Do you have a link for these... it appears the Office of Statistics doesnt publish ethnic data relating to perpetrators of crime, only victims... the Home Office doesnt either, and the prison service doesnt seem to, though it is possible to apply for some sort of research position, so it may be available, but on the face of it, it is not. I have found some data for 2004 (not sure where yours came from?)... which shows that foreign nationals account for around 12% of our prison population, which I think is fairly representative. Where is your 67% from??? But these figures, though 2 years prior to yours, are hardly 67% (which I have to say sounds very much like two thirds, which is the kind of stat usually thought of on the hoof with a beer in hand!), even using the "No nationality given" portion, there are only 13.5%, still nothing to particularly write home about, take the Irish, drug mules and holiday makers out of this and well, its down to bugger all... my source is http://www.crimlinks.com/Prison%20Population.htm

The only "people" that have ever caused me crime are white, lower class British (Anglo-saxon, if you will)... which is borne out by the conviction rates... ie: 87% is committed by British nationals.

You understand little about economies of scale I presume, and regardless it is well known that the immigrant population actually, on balance, only pay in to the national pot, not take from it, so without them we would be financially worse off (FACT!)... this is actually the case, immigrants pay more INTO the national account than take from it! Surprisingly few actually claim benefits of any kind, even when they are eligible, you really should check it out before you point fingers... the largest, by far, section of society from a sponging perspective are the 7 generation deep council housing chav brigade, not economic migrants.

you may be able to get a doctors appointment, but getting a doctor may prove tricky! Beggars are all nationalities, in my experience again usually British, as for "Goodnight Mr Tom"... maybe watch one produced at that time rather than merely based in that time: "Lucky Jim", and you might soon find, as is the theme of the film that the past is rarely how we remember it or have been told how it was. Merry England, indeed!
