DEPORTATION NOW for all illegal alien messicon border criminals is what is needed. Plus a wall 40 feet high and 30 feet deep.

This is serious for EVERY American family too.

too bad your family just couldn't obey laws then you wouldn't have to worry about reform.

crime deosn't pay.

Immigration reform in my opinion would mean legislative reform For example stronger fines for businesses employing illegal immigrants, more active checking of business to ensure that they are not hiring illegal immigrants, and criminal charges against officers of companies that knowingly hire an illegal immigrant.

Also I feel other reforms would be needed. The biggest reform would be the issuance of ID cards to those are on a work permit, permanent resident, and citizen for government services (e.g. Social Security #, driver's license, and education), Thereby identifying those who are not entitled to receive such services or have to prove they are in the country legally by showing their passport with stamp before receiving assistance. This also means limiting access to government services and programs for those who are either permanent resident or citizen. Along with making it easier to remove those who loose their job while on a work permit or violate the terms of their visa (e.g. entering on a visitor's visa and then getting married while in the US).

Another big reform would be only giving US Citizenship to those who can prove both parents were in the country legally at the time of birth and if not the child is not able to be granted US citizenship.

Finally I believe there should be detention until deportation and not release. Once deported the deportee is required to pay back to the US government the cost of their deportation, any government services they received illegally, and any other damage before they could be allowed to re-enter. If they enter illegally and have not paid back the government money owed then they should be charged with defrauding the US government.

With those changes to disuade people from entering and make it tougher for those who are here illegally to stay I would also put in some encouragement. Such as if you have over-stayed and returned to your country for two years you could re-apply to enter the US provided a security check was successful and no criminal convictions that would prevent you from re-entering. Also if you have any money owed to the US government and you return voluntarily then the money does not have to be repaid. Finally those who follow the process and follow the laws should be rewarded. Maybe the year they become a citizen receive a tax credit, possibly making route to citizenship less burdensome, or some other encouragement for being law abiding.

For me I disagree with those who say it would cost too much to deport 12,000,000 illegals. My opinion is tougher statutory reform would discourage people from entering, make it tougher for those who are here illegally to stay, and encourage those who are here illegally to return home.

It is a requirement for all immigrants coming to the United States that they have full command of English. While some promise to learn English, they never do, never achieve citizenship status, and never achieve permanent residency. You may well want to find another place to go because speaking, writing and spelling English is a keystone of a successful life in this country.

Nothing has been said what will be in the BS amnesty bill this time. Same crap that was in the last one I imagine.
Spell check is your friend.

If it happens .... and this is a really big IF.

You will likely need all the things that are already needed. Clean background check, speak English, medical exam and several thousand dollars for each person.

As far as I can tell the only thing that "reform" will do is allow more people in, it will not change the requirements.

Nothing has been proposed that is currently being considered by Congress. It's hard to know exactly what will be needed, including how much it will cost. But I bet some requirements will involve criminal histories (esp. felonies), amount of time present in the United States, and perhaps some sort of fine.

I have the same questions for you. how do I get into Mexico, get a job, and not go to prison? (can,t be done.) I know. Illegal Gringos go to prison.

don't have no hope because of recession and if it does pass then you would find out later what you need to prove to be able to legalize yourself ....
