Immigration case sent back to us from india?

hey guys 12 years ago my dad applied for visas for my 3 uncles in india. last year june 18 all three were called for a interview in new dehli, india. 2 of them got the visas but the oldest one was told they would call him again in about 3 weeks. they never called him, instead the case was sent back to the us embasys. Its been like 7 months and they keep saying the case is in administrative processing and they are doign some sort of inquiry. they said thats all their allowed to tell us. did this happen to anyone else and how did it get resolved. can someone tell me what might be goign on with the case and if they will get their visa. does anyone know what the inquiry could be about. please asnwer we are really worried about them and the other 2 families are not used to living away from them.

Usually administrative processing means there is an FBI name check pending. The FBI has identified that his name appears somewhere in their files through their computer, they now have to physically go look at these files to see what it says. Since there could be multiple files located in different offices around the world, it can take a long time. usually about six months.
You can write to your congressperson to inquire from USCIS exactly what the reason for the delay is.
