Well my best friend is from Italy, and she wants to move to the US, what kind of visa or green card will she need? She will be working for my parents, (they are a small business owner) and she will be living with us, she will be going to the community college also...She wants to live here for the rest of her life...what does she need? and how much will it cost? what are the steps to getting this!! please help, im in dire need of getting this information!!!!!

you need to go to the italian consulate and petition for residency in the u.s. . depending on if she has special qualifications as a worker that benefits the u.s. depends on whether or not she is qualified
if her petition is granted the proceedings will start . it will take at least 5 years before she is issued a working permit and then another year to get approved for a resident card and social security card
it costs about $5000. for lawyer and immigration fees
if she gets to the u.s. just on a visiting visa
and then she over stays her visa but then applies to immigration papers
IN NO WAY CAN SHE RETURN TO ITALY FOR ANY REASON UNTIL HER PAPERS ARE FINISHED AND SHE GETS HER GREEN CARD
the reason i am stressing this is a friend of mine just went through 8 years of immigration and was about to get green card on march 5th 2009
and at the last minute he was denied because he went to mexico and got married
so he is no longer qualified and lost all his money

contact a lawyer. if its a small business, it will be har for her to apply for h1b (working permit) or maybe she can apply fo rtouris first then convert to student when she gets here. then just ask you parents to pay her under the table. lol. at least she enters legally and will obtain papers legally as well. |
