Immigration issues! why is it that the US gets so...?

Consider that we are letting people into our country via Mexican border that want to honestly kill us! There is no way to monitor the vast amount of people pouring into our borders every day!These people need to be fed and housed and I have seen people receive WIC cards that I know were illegals! Diversity is a wonderful thing IF you are legal! If not, go home and try to make your country great. Take the example of the American people and do what they did...struggle to make this country what it is! Demand change! We cannot afford to pay with our lives and safety of our citizens since our national security is at stake. If you really want to become an American you need to learn the language which is ENGLISH! Do not expect to have your own language here and have people accommodate you! If my ancestors did it ...you can too! If you are not willing to learn the language of a country you do not deserve to be a citizen of that country! We are a blend of the BEST of the whole world , we only want the best the world has to offer. You have to show you are a person who respects the laws of this country before you will be welcomed in as one of us! This means no running over the borders!

Americans are used to their high standard of living...when we allow illegal immigrants into our borders we can usually make the assumption that they are poor. Our hospitals are overrun with people who illegals who have no healthcare costing the tax payers millions each year. Money that is made in America is then exported over the border, hurting our economy. Crime can also be a factor. Im not saying these people are bad or I wouldn't do the same thing in their shoes, im just giving you the reasons why it hurts the US

People get upset about ILLEGAL "immigration" BECAUSE it is Illegal! People who apply to come legally wait their turn and prepare to come. All of us have ancestors who came from someplace else...the great majority of them came legally and ASSIMILATED into the culture. They learned English. They did not march around carrying the flag of the country they left and demand "rights." They studied and became citizens. I am an American living in Mexico. I am here legally...I am learning the language, and I honor their culture. I know Many Mexican people who whole-heartedly disagee with the illegal "immigrants". Mexico certainly does not allow people from Latin American countries to enter their country ilegally...IF those who try are not shot at the border, they are jailed. Each country needs to respect their neighbors just as individuals should respect their neighbors and their neighbor's house.

I welcome all law abiding immigrants who want to come here to make a better life for themselves and their families, no problem at all. However, I do not welcome criminals! By definition anybody who sneaks across the border in direct violation of our laws is a criminal. Our laws say that most criminals, unless the crime is particularly bad, will be deported. I don't see your problem.

Please explain why you think our laws should be so easy on people who sneak into our country when the laws in EVERY other country are so harsh. Our nieghbor to the south imprisons illegal immigrants, the ones that live long enough to go to jail, anyway.

Nobody is complaining about diversity. That is not the problem. Its all about the illegal immigrants being ILLEGAL. They should not be here period.
It's a well known fact that a fairly large number of crimes are committed by illegal immigrants.
They take away jobs from legal/local residents
They can be a burden on the local communities budget
If an illegal immigrants son/daughter wants to go to college in Boston they get cheaper rates than someone who is was born in New Hampshire. And guess who has to pay the difference? Boston tax payers do.
I could go on and on.... so in answer to your question again, it's not about diversity, it's about enforcing the law and the economic burden in our country.

I'm sorry, dear, but did you actually read what you wrote?!? You just answered your first question- IT'S BECAUSE ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE CROSSING THE BORDER! What is it that you aren't understanding? What does braking our laws have to do with "diversity", and just how "diverse" will we be if we only allow one ethnic group to enter the country in mass waves?

I believe you're in a little over your head. Learn some basics first, like the difference between LEGAL and ILLEGAL. Then you might not get so "annoyed", since you might actually know what you're talking about, as opposed to now... Best of luck to you.

We don't care if people come here LEGALLY. In fact, most of us welcome hard-working quality people who come here LEGALLY.

The "problem" is that, by definition, they are here ILLEGALLY. They cannot pay taxes, but then put a huge burden on our schools, hospitals, and police forces.

Worse yet, they are willing to work for half of the American's wages, meaning that employers are forced to hire illegals to keep pace with their competitors who hire illegals. You have people being exploited and Americans who are unemployed.

Finally, there are huge areas of the USA where no one even tries to speak English. At the very least, if you're going to live someplace, you should learn the language. I don't care if you speak the language from the Old Country, but you MUST know English to function in the USA.

There is a difference between immigration and ILLEGAL immigration. We have no problem with immigrants coming to the US to get a better life, as long as they go through the propper channels, learn to speak English and become a US citizen.
My mom, from Germany did. We speak German to each other. The problem of why Americans get upset when other languages are spoken is because of Spanish immigrants who come to the US who don't even bother to TRY to learn to speak English!! Maybe English is a tough language to learn, but millions of immigrants who came to the US learned it.
We are not saying you can't speak Spanish anymore, but at least try and learn English

My grandparents were immigrants. LEGAL immigrants. They held jobs, had businesses, and paid taxes. They learned to speak English (well, not really good, but enough to understand them). Their children went off to fight wars to defend the freedom of the United States. Some were even decorated war heroes. My paternal grandfather was so proud of this country he would NEVER tell anyone his original nationality. "I am an American!" he would proclaim.
Neither set of grandparents expected a handout. Their children did not have special teachers in school.
THEY DID NOT SEND 75% OF THEIR INCOME OUTSIDE OF THIS COUNTRY! (that burns me the most).
I don't think anyone is against LEGAL immigration.

Everyone on earth can't come to the U.S., speak their own language, demand that all Americans know their language, not learn American history and not be loyal to the United States.
The U.S. needs a common language and a common culture and assume some loyalty to the U.S. Otherwise, the U.S. will cease to exist as a sovereign country and will just become another Babylon with everyone babbling their own language and demanding their own culture.
Besides, when someone sneaks across our borders, they ARE illegal aliens. I don't care what their reason is ... they are in the U.S. illegally.

I do not care about diversity or culture anymore than I care to hear about how great someones grandchildren are. I think we are too diverse as it is.
If it were in my power there would be no immigration. Legal or illegal would make not a bit of difference. There would also be no give programs to anyone.
I see it every day also. Example: A family on some type welfare and there is a $30,000 SUV in the drive way. What is wrong with this picture?
I am in a service related business. I worked very hard to get where I am. No one gave me anything. Why should minorities or immigrants get special treatment?
In spite of these negatives most of the time , dealing with minorities things are pretty smooth. Save one group. That would be people from the Middle East. Most of the time they can speak English. However they are totally obnoxious. They want something for nothing. Gripe and groan.
The English thing is not too big of deal. If they don't want to learn it is their problem. However we should not have to have printed material in their language. Also we should not have to use their language in schools

I am not against immigration if it is done legally, however yes it does anger me when people speak in a foriegn language. IT IS RUDE! What a person speaks at home is their business, and if you can't speak English then go home! I'm tired of having to hear "no habla english". I " no habla" stupid either. I hate the fact that our children don't qualify for free college or free medical, or any of the things the illegals are handed. It's time to start taking care of our own and send the freeloaders back where they came from.

Because they are illegal and breaking the law, they don't do it legally so that means we don't no who is here, who is carrying a communicable disease, and who is a criminal, if they do it legally then they have to take a physical, learn English and learn about this country before they can come into this country. Yes, diversity the LEGAL way. all countries want to keep track of the people that are in their country. It is called census. Hundreds of thousand of Mexico's criminals have also come over, if they had done it legally they would not be allowed in. So yes we like diversity and we like the people that come to speak English, we cannot have a nation of Babel. One language unites a country, to many languages breaks a country apart. When no one can communicate, they go their separate ways, just like in the Bible, the tower of Babel. And that brings me to the education, why do we have to have Spanish teachers for the children, we don't have to have Russian, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese teachers for the children and that is because the parents of these children teach them English before they start school or enough to get by and learn on their own. The Mexicans that are coming are just not teaching their children English and it's costing us a fortune and they just don't care. They are so uneducated and that is why Mexico is a mess.

Sincerely and without any intended disrespect towards any illegal aliens or immigrants of any race or national origin. I honestly believe America is in a state of emergency. Corruption in our government, terrorism, inability to handle disasters such as 911 and Katrina, a projected bankruptcy of our social security system by 2044, bankruptcy of medicaid by 2014, a $ 131 Billion dollar a year expense to American taxpayer to provide assorted social services to illegal aliens, a failing health care system, a failing education system, a growing population of criminals on our street and in our prisons who are illegal aliens and the cost to taxpayers, the influx of gangs like MS 13 from south America, not only entering our country but becoming a violent force far worse than the bloods or crypts and believed to have strong ties to terrorism, smuggling as well as ties to the drug cartel. The effect of illegal immigration on young people being able to seek employment in a work force other than fast food and retail, because they can't even enter the manual labor force because corporations use illegal aliens first because their cheaper. I could go on but my point is that the language barrier is probably the least of our worries. If something isn't done concerning immigration and many other problem, America will not be the choice of destination for illegal aliens for long.

At least learn the basics and teach or allow your children to learn English if they are to succeed in the USA. there are abuses everywhere. They need to be stopped, but we will never stop ALL criminals, ALL illegal immigrants, ALL abusers of ANY thing. We can only keep them all at the lowest possible.

i work and pay my taxes. i care for my own family. i do not live off the system. who am i to put a legal family down for needing help. an American may need that help one day. you or i may need to live off the system, we pay are taxes in to help support this system. i think you don't know what your trying to talk about-Americans have no problem with immigration that is done legally and properly-I only object to people who come here and refuse to learn English-it may be hard but our ancestors learned it when they came here...so should you-have some apple pie and embrace being an American-if you want to embrace the country you just left-you should return to it.......and WIC is abused like food stamps and welfare etc. there will always be a segment of the population that abuses such programs-i think they should go to jail-but the stupid little girl feeding her kids off WIC-at least her kids get WIC to eat-it ain't that much-and while she may be a dumb hooch for letting her kids live like that-at least they can survive.

Americans know that these people are not fleeing persecution from their country, they are not refugees. The problem with immigration is that people want to know why these people are crossing the border, and the only way to know that is to stem the flow and make people go through proper channels. once the boarder is secured, anyone fleeing from the law in their own country will not be able to come through, anyone who has committed fraud (stolen ss card, welfare benefits, etc) in this country should not be able to come through. Once you keep those who have commited crimes out, it should be easier for those who want to come to the US to work to be able to cross. securing the border and stemming the flow of immigration should also benefit those wanting to immigrate for work. think of all the illegal criminals that flow through our border, they take up space that could go to working immigrants and their families.
I agree with you that english is one of the hardest languages to learn, but the effort to want to learn your new countries language should be there, so you can live and communicate with your new peers, it also make it easier to compete for work and gain education. if you can speak your new countries language your probably less likely to get screwed over as well.
Finally Wic only provides suppliments to your groceries and there is no way you can live off of wic benefits, unless you have many friends who give you theirs, and then you are not going to have much variety in your diet, what, milk, fruit and cheese?

I dont get upset hearing other languages in public places, but it is hard to work with people who dont understand English. There are lots of things hard to learn but that is no excuse. If you choose to live in an English speaking country it is better for all concerned if you can communicate with others on a day to day basis. Also there will always be some one who abuses a welfare system.

Don't you know what the meaning of illegal is against the law unlawful. If they want to come into this country come into this country legally. It is that simply. Do you know that coming into this country illegal is making it harder for those mexicans who are trying to come in legally and be law abiding??? If American needs to fill those jobs so bad then the employers would start looking at imigration to hire these people and bring them in legally. However why bother when they come accross the boarder. willing to make below minium wages. So why don't you be good to your fellow mexicans who want to come over legally too. Do it legally.
