ok this is the deal, i was brought to the us illegaly when i was 2 years, and im 20 years old now, i basically been living here all my life gone to school and finished high school, i wanted to keep studying but since im illegal i cant do that, i just need help or if someone knows of anything i can do to apply for residency or something, im originally from mexico, i cant go back since i dont know mexico , i never been there and i dont know of any family there, so any help will be highly appreciated

You cannot change your status while you are living here illegally.
You have no choice but to return to your home country and apply for legal re-entry. Doesn't matter that you don't know anyone,that is where you are a citizen. You will face a 10 year ban on returning for the years you lived here illegally as an adult.
You had a chance at age 18 to go back to your country and return without your parents bringing you here illegally counting against you. Since you did not do that,you have now made the decision as an adult to live here illegally. Your illegal presence here is no longer your parents fault,it is yours. You can now be deported and given a ban on returning if caught.
Thank your parents for putting you in this situation.
Getting married to a citizen will not help you,you will still have to return to your home country for the process to go through. |

Surprisingly there are many people in your situation, but all is not doomed. Look online at institutions that might help others in your situation- for example Chicanos por la Causa. Also, look up the Dream Act- which is a proposition that does not seem to die, just brought up over and over again, which in turn lets us know that there is enough people in your situation that this issue is always discussed. As to actually obtaining legals status, with the current turm oil in our economy and amnesty has taken a back seat, so find yourself a nice lady-or gentleman with "good" paper, make her/him happy, be a boy/girl and ask him/her to marry you...Congratulations and Good Luck.. |
