Indefinate leave to remain? Spouse?

My best friend just got married to a Turkish man here in the UK. He has been here in the UK for the past 2 years on a student visa. They want to apply for indefinate leave to remain on the basis that they are married. How do they go about this? Where do they apply? Is there a number they can call to receive a form? She is 17 if this affects it.

I am sure your best friend got married with the Turkish guy in UK, so he (her husband) had to apply for COA (Certificate of Approval) from Home Office.

Once married they have to book appointment with home office for status change from student to spouse of UK citizen.

They can even apply by post but they will be called in for an interview anyway.

I would imagine marrying a 17 year old would make a huge difference & set off alarm bells immediately.

They should seek advice from a solicitor specialising in immigration matters before they apply to the Home Office for anything.

If you follow the link & scroll down, you'll find that one of the requirements is that they should be married for two years, they also need to prove they can maintain themselves without recourse to public funds

17 affects the visa as the age for application for spousal visa has now been raised to 21.She will have to live in Turkey

They will have a difficult time unfortunately.
it is likely that they will need to apply for a spouse visa at the british consulate in Turkey,as her husband only has entry clearence regarding a student visa, and must return to Turkey after his studies have finished, under the conditions of that visa.
entry clearance officers are not helpful when it comes to issuing spouse visas, and a good immigration lawyer should be consulted with reagards to there application

they will not get indefinite leave to remain in this country.to get that they have stay in this country for 5 years on work permit.

her visa period will be depend on his student visa.
if she is a uk passport holder he will get ILR.
check home office website for ph no.
