I hope not for the sake of latin America. If Mexico is the best you have then you are in big trouble.

No, I think Argentina or Brazil are. But it's still pretty developed and also a wealthy country, much more than some European countries. The 2nd richest man in the world is Mexican!! Also most Mexicans living in Mexico do not choose to ever leave. The ones you see crossing the border are only the very poor, uneducated ones, usually not real Mexicans, but indians.

note : the question was not which was the most developed country in Latin America but if Mexico was the most developed ....

I'll agree with namas in that Chile is the most developed nation in Latin America, although the salaries aren't as high as Argentina's.

I would have to say it is Argentina, they have the most literate population in Latin America majority of the population I believe can read at the high school level.

Mexico is developed however majority of the development is only for the small middle class and the rich. You will not see any of Mexico's middle of upper class coming to the US they live very comfortable there. If the middle or upper class do come to the United States they are here for higher education, colleges and universities. Also the upper and middle class besides education come here to work for major corporations as engineers and in business dealing with Latin America.

No......none really have bragging rights but Brazil and Argentina have Mexico beat. I mean the rest of "Latin America" after South America and Mexico are islands and they're all doing better than Mexico for the most part.
