Is animal testing illegal in Canada?

I am doing an essay for any topic and i couldn't think of one so i searched this and i cannot find any research answers

Depends on what you mean by animal testing. Medicines for various diseases are often tested on animals before they are deemed safe for human use. However, anytime you use a product that says "not tested on animals" look and see if there is a way to contact the manufacturer if you "have questions or experience any problems" with the product. If there is a 1-800 number then that product is being tested on animals...with you as the animal.
The only difference is that your average lab rat can't use a phone or a computer.
