Oh I hate it when those damn Canadians come into my country and breathe all of my patriotic air ! But wait I thought this wasn't a racial issue. Some people are seriously so dumb. I'm not saying that all of the antis are racist but I know of a few that are and usually the ones that are racist are kinda crazy too. What people don't seem to grasp it that only about 1/2 of illegals come from Mexico but do you ever hear any other race associated with illegals? Of course not, the 30% of this country that are antis suffer from a bad case of xenophobia and too much Lou Dobbs.

Well 57% of illegal aliens are of the NATIONALITY not RACE known as Mexican. So if we can get all the Mexicans who have no right to be in this country out, half the problem will be gone. From our perspective, this is the first challenge to tackle in the illegal immigration debate.

And I am not anti-mexican, just anti-criminal. I have many hispanic friends, just as I have many other minority friends. The race card does get tiresome.

Ok, I personally don't care if your Mexican. I just don't like how Mexican woman come in her pregnant, have the babies under our health care system for FREE, when I have no health insurance, and because I am an AMERICAN CITEZIN have to pay $100,000 if I need an operation. At the same time the child is US Born, and the mother gets to stay. That is WRONG

being a Mexican person is not a crime. However, if they are illegal immigrants, yes it's against the law. But personally i hate when people make fun or are racist against them or anyone else. I hate racism and all those other isms. sure there are plenty of other illegal people here in this country and we should just accept them as regular people. my parents had their green cards for a while before they became citizens and it was a great thing. hope this helped.

I was not going to answer this, as I hate to give personal information about me in this place. But in my opinion, you are making a valid point.
Sometimes I have read here and yes I have seen racism, not just a discussion about illegals. It is necessary stomach to read in this Yahoo section. .

I have Mexican origins, I have lived in Europe most of my life, I am married to an American man and I don't plan to live in the USA ever.
After being clear about this, I want to tell you what my husband's family in the States said to him once. They were saying racist things about Mexicans, my husband remind them that he was married to a Mexican woman...their reply? "Yes, but she is white" (!!!!!!!!!)
This is racist to me. And I am sure there are some that think in this way too.

Independently to the illegal issue, sometimes some comments come out as racists.

I will agree with you that alot of people on this site are very narrow minded. They see Illegal immigrant and they think "Mexican". I can't give you a real reason on why they think like this, maybe its society in general, then you hear about illegals on TV or the Radio its Mexicans that they are talking about? I would like for "DANIEL S" to prove to me how many children I've had for FREE in the hospital. I'm of Mexican descent and let me tell you that I have never had free medical attention. My hospital bill came to about $6K for a 2 day stay and I paid that with MY MONEY ............. I would also like to know where they can show me if I have ever gotten food stamps, welfare, free food, free housing .............

Now let me tell you, there are about 7 white families that depend on me to b fed, clothed and sheltered every 2 weeks. How's that for a change ............. did it ever ocurr to you that "Mexicans" as you call them can also be leaders?

I have on a few occasions addressed the situation concerning the massive tide of ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants in this country, and I've always been quite harsh with my replies.

I can not speak for anyone else, but for me racism has absolutely nothing to do with it...being Asian (Japanese), I've dealt with racism most of my life. I do not condone it and have no tolerance for it.

My biggest reason for being so disconcerted with Mexican illegals: none of those other countries you mentioned, along with all the rest you haven't, does not endorse coming here to the U.S. illegally the way Vicente Fox has openly suggested.

It's still illegal, no matter WHO says it OK to do. It's like saying it's OK to bust into your neighbor's house and to take what you want.

By the way, I'm much less concerned about your spelling than I am about folks posting insightful questions...yours was a good one.

It's the "illegal" part, not the "Mexican" part.

As stupid as it may sound, people are beginning to use the two words as if they were synonyms. That's totally absurd.

But just think, whose fault is it?. When you see illegals or pro-illegals protesting or rioting.. what flag do you see?? It's ALWAYS the Mexican flag. How many flags from other countries have you seen in those protests?

What language do they use in the signs? SPANISH!. Making all Spanish speaking people (including those born in Spain) guilty of something they haven't done.

That's the problem. Most illegal aliens are Mexican, that's a fact. And they make a lot of noise.

What would you do if your country -Mexico- started getting a lot of .. let's say people from Madagascar ..(no offense, please, it's just an example) who came illegally and stayed there and took the Mexicans' jobs and lived under the Mexican welfare.. while real Mexicans were having a hard time surviving? What would you do?

You wouldn't say.. "those 'illegal' citizens of the world".. you'd say "those illegal people from Madagascar"... wouldn't you??

But again, I agree that "illegal" and "Mexican" should not be treated as synonyms, let alone "illegal" and "'Spanish". But some people can't help it. That tells you how ignorant and stupid they can be.

You raised the word 'Mexican' and so should expect answers directed towards that. Nearly half of our illegal immigrants are not Mexicans, on the other hand, more are from Mexico than from all of the other countries put together, and our government tells us one out of every two Mexican nationals here is illegally here. So there is some generalization by people from areas where Mexicans are the largest source of illegal immigration.

However, to me it is about illegal immigration and the burdon on our schools and services and opportunities for our own children, not about where the illegal immigrants come from.

It is government funded and backed by the media. Here look mexicans coming in illegal. So we won't notice that people from India and other countries are coming in by the 10,000s and taking all high paying jobs. The rest of the jobs are being outsourced to same countries. But get the people worked up about the mexicans and maybe they will be too stupid to notice that they are getting as poor as mexico. AND So far it is working perfectly isn't it?

I think you are making an assumption that is incorrect. All of the answers I read regarding immigration refer to illegal aliens or illegal immigrants, not "Mexicans."

By the "we" you inserted, I take you are Mexican? Are you here legally? Illegally?

Are you a U. S. citizen? If so, why do you consider yourself a "Mexican?" Do you have "dual citizenship?" Where do your loyalties lie? Would you join the U. S. military to defend this country if needed, or would you run back to Mexico?

If you prefer Mexico, why don't you go back there and fix the problems of that country, so that illegal immigration from Mexico wouldn't be such a problem in this country.

Yes, there are people from other countries here illegally, but most of them become illegal after their work or tourist or educational visas expire and became illegal in that fashion. They came here legally, NOT by breaking the law just to get here. But that does not make them any less illegal under the law.

Nobody in their right mind thinks that all Americans are white, but we ARE all Americans, NOT illegal immigrants. It's hardly profiling when the MAJORITY of those crossing the border are from Mexico.

Being Mexican is not a racist issue, either. Being "Mexican" is a nationality, a political and cultural issue. There is only ONE race - the HUMAN race. Everything else is culture and politics. We all bleed the same color, we can all interbreed with each other, so how can we be of different races?

You are ignoring the rest of the conversation if what you read here equates to white Americans being racist against Mexican immigrants and you don't read anything else. There's alot more going on than that minority. Most of the racism comes from or is a reaction to brown racists promoting the Latinization of everything and Spanish language and all that. They are very vocal about it and get away with it simply because they are brown. There's a difference between the immigrants of different races and that difference is their behavior. Immigrants of other races have a better attitude towards America and Americans. They come here a very long distance to become Americans. They learn English. They make attempts to adapt and assimilate. So do about half of our brown latin language speakers. However, the other half of our latin language speakers, the MAJORITY OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER have an attitude problem. I initially came to this section with the notion that the best thing to do is annex Mexico since they all want to live here. But I've learned that there are some very racist Mexicans who have no intention of becoming Americans who consider California to be part of Mexico and who have alot of political power. They team up with jihadist Muslims and come across our borders with an attitude of invasion rather than immigration. They call themselves and their people immigrants and the true Americans interchangably. But they are neither. They are invaders. They are a minority of all immigrants, but a vocal and moneyed minority that have to be watched. We have to constantly be aware of who is saying what in forums discussing immigration. Because they promote false ideas about white Americans that you seem to be buying into such as we don't do our own farm work and that we are all wealthy and that we are all racists and have no reason for being upset with invaders. I don't associate the invader attitude with all brown peope but won't pretend it has nothing to do with their race when they refer to themselves by their race.

57% of illegals are Mexican, but the other 43% are not divided into 193 countries like you falsely stated.

That 43% is divided into only a few countries that sends millions of illegals here like China, Vietnam, India, Central America, Eastern Europe & Russia.

Either way, that is still a lot of illegal non-Mexicans living here who are probably also ripping off the system, but no one mentions it.

Mexicans are of course not the only illegals in America. They are however the vast majority and that's where the main problem is. When people speak of the "mexican problem" they are not being racist, but honest.

There are about 194 countries in the world. If 57% of illegals are from Mexico that means 43% are divided up among 193 countries, about 0.22% from each of the others.

I only have a problem with uneducated ILLEGAL immigrants coming over here and taking from the US tax payers. I'm tired of them getting everything handed to them on a silver platter. I'm tired of them stealing US citizens Identity's to get themselves ahead. Its unfortunate for mexicans that a majority of illegal immigrants are of the same race and that it gets mixed together. I however do NOT have a problem with legal mexicans or natural born mexicans here in the USA.
