I think you hit the spot... mental insecurity. I don't hate legal or illegal immigrants. It is sad though that all of these people for the most part have nothing better to do than to be bashing people who only come here to work, help our economy and want a piece of the american dream. Do "americans" think they are better because they speak English? Is English the universal language? why don't they learn a new language. I hate to see what this country will turn into and not because of illegals but because of legals who are so ignorant and close minded.

I don't have a problem with immigrants. I just have a problem with illegal immigrants. Yes, this country was founded by immigrants but they didn't "sneak" in. I don't blame the PEOPLE, however. If I was poor and living in Mexico, I would try to get into the US too. It is just a matter of following the rules.

I'm not. People lately are taking stereotypes and misinformation and running wild. (or at least running their mouths) for example; how many times do I have to hear that illegal immigrants dont speak english, dont pay taxes, get welfare, and take American (oh so fought after) jobs. I am ok with others having their own opinions on the subject, but they need to really talk to illegal immigrants (peacefully) and talk to the INS, and find out more before they run their mouths!

I just hate the ones that say we stoled the land from mexico they are so stupid they don't even no their own history. They don't even remember the Spanish concored their as*es first, and the Spanish set up the Missions in San Diego and through out california. And Santa Anna sold them out and we won the land in war they just can't stand it. well they need to give the Northern part of Mexico back to the Appache. The Mexicans stoled that form them but they don't say anything about that. So who's the thief, at least we paid for ours and fought for it.

If you're not a native American, you're an immigrant. The problem is two separate issues. The first is people who come here and refuse to assimilate to our culture, refuse to learn the language, and refuse to become useful members of society. The second problem is illegal aliens who come here illegally and do not contribute to the tax base but feel entitled to all of the social programs that those taxes pay for. If these people are mostly Mexican, does that make me a racist?

I love immigrants. Anyone who doesn't have a communicable disease, doesn't have a violent criminal background, and will make a positive contribution to our civilization is welcome here. Let 'em come on in. Furthermore, if anyone from anywhere served in our military for six years, I would grant them citizenship, even if they were a diseased criminal. Of course, we wouldn't want TOO many of them in the military. Otherwise we have a Goth-like situation.

I personally think that it's not right to hate or dislike immigrants. But I also don't think it's right for people to come illegally. On the flip side, I think that it's not right for it to be so dang difficult to get US citizenship.

When you let to many of one group in they do not assimilate and speak our language. especially Mexican. We have to stop letting in Mexicans if we need more immigrants we need to bring them in from other countries.

I have no problem with immigrants. It's what our country is made of. However, I do have a problem with people who enter our country illegally, take advantage of our public assistance programs, and DEMAND amnesty. What other country in the world would allow that? NONE!

People don't hate immigrants, it's just that you can't cross the border without registering with the government. The US government has the right to deny immigrant who has felony records from the country they are coming from. People get aggravated to see people come over illegally when they are not being checked out by the government. After all, we do not want another 911 and would you invite a stranger into your house if you did not know them?

I dont think that everyone is establishing a hate factor. Its much like you inviting a person in your own home, and they want to change the decor, the decor that your mother or father arranged along time ago. Sure, there will be some adjustment on both sides, but the remaining factor is, its your home....just like the u.s. is home to all immigrants from before. They had to adjust, so why is it all of a sudden we now have to change what has been for generations before them. Lets turn this around, is Mexico planning on making sure their business speak english, are they establishing to make sure all americans come over illeglly, and work in their establishments, and gain all the benefits that mexico has to offer without paying into their economy, think not. President Fox is very quiet these days, mainly because, he reaps all of the awards. Either way he wins. What we should do is beat the people who sell social security numbers and green cards illegally at their own game, make it easier for them to come across legally, sell the cards at half the price, at least they will have a legal number and it taxes will be taken out.

Shut up. You're ignorant. Immigration is awesome, it's what this country was built on. I'm just tired of law-breakers getting rewarded. It's ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION you idiot. And it DOES affect me. I have many immigrant friends, mexican, guatamalan, russian, german, etc. It's not mental insecurity when the illegal immigrants in California are saying they want to militantly take part of American that they were going to sell to us anyway, before one of their "insecure leaders" had an anxiety attack and declared war on us because he didn't like the guy we sent. Then they ran like cowards when we fought. Mexico basically gave us the land. Don't be so ignorant.

I am. I don't like it when people come into my country that so many people work so hard to make the best country in the world, and protest. There should not be an arguement about illegal immigrants rights because they have no rights.

I am getting angry with some legal immigrants too. I want to see protesters with American flags. Instead i see mexican flags and american flags being flown upside down. that makes me so sad, i have no respect for them
