Is illegal immigration devastating our country in Calif when it exceeds over $1 billion a year in 1 state?

Figures from the Department of Public Social Services show that children of illegal aliens in Los Angeles County collected over $21 million in welfare and over $21 million in food stamps in February 2009 -- an increase of $1 million from the previous month, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Annually the cost of illegal immigration to Los Angeles County taxpayers exceeds over one billion dollars, which includes $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $480 million in welfare and food stamps allocations. Twenty-four percent of the County’s total allotment of welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens born in the United States .

According to www.capsweb.org in CA that state adds 1,700 legal and illegal immigrants daily, 600,000 per year.

Good ol' Oliver North started a programme called REX84 to combat this very issue, the real question should be why have the camps not been used yet, they are reported to be up and running but lacking illegals to fill them up or the man power to put them there, or is there another reason? Well since federal law makes food stamps unavailable to illegal aliens it has to be that California has agreed to pay it.

Illegals DO NOT NOT NOT collect Unemployment, I had to produce proof of citizenship to collect mine. They check your SSN. They DO NOT collect. Much of the statistics above make no sense at all and I don't believe them until I see "REAL" sources. The last time I looked the incarceration rate for Mexicans was less than 1/4 that of other young males for example. I can find that citation somewhere if I thought anyone would actually read it.

Did you account for the economic value the illegals produce? Many do pay taxes, they all spend money in stores and rent places to live, etc.
