The United States was not founded by illegal immigrants. The vast majority of people who came here from Europe came here to settle colonies, a big moneymaker for their Imperial masters. The vast majority of people from Africa came here as slaves, totally against their will. It may violate morality, but at the time it didn't violate any laws.

Not every American thinks the same on immigration. I disagree with vigilante groups, but there are huge numbers of immigrants pouring across the border from the south. Not all of these people come from Mexico; they come from Central and South America as well. If you own land along the Rio Grande, your fences will be torn down, your water wells drained, and everything that isn't tied down will disappear. Remember that not every illegal immigrant wants to work and send money home. Some just want an easier life and find a porous border to be an easy way to make money illegally. The reason that people aren't flooding in from Canada is obvious.The standard of living is so good, once people go to Canada, they usually want to stay.

It is Illegal Immigrants that most Americans are against. ILLEGAL. America was not founded by illegal immigrants.
Immigrants of the past came here and Learned to become Americans. They learned the language and became citizens and worked hard for their families.
Todays immigrants, legal and illegal want to come here and impose their ways on us. They want us to accept their language and customs rather than accepting Americam ways.This is causing a rift among all of the cultures in America now.

Stop blending anti- ILLEGAL immigration, with legal immigration. There is a DIFFERENCE. Stop ignoring the FACT, that the "certain" immigrants are ILLEGAL. Your statement that this country was founded by illegal immigrants is rediculous. Are you trying to say that there was an established government with immigration laws in place when white colonists arrived on the east coast of America? That's rediculous. I am half-Native American and half black. Half of my ancestors were forced onto reservations by white settlers, and I am an anti-illegal.

Your argument is weak, and blind to historical fact. Native Americans fought hard to maintain their territory, but they LOST. Mexicans went to war with American soldiers to maintain the southwest part of the US, but not only did they LOSE the war, but they SOLD their territory to the US.

Right now in 2006, there are immigration laws and procedures in place for the US to honor the plaque at Ellis Island, that you misuse and quote in your argument. Anyone who violates these laws and procedures, is ILLEGAL, and should be deported for committing a CRIME.

i'm sure the native people who were there orignally would love to have their land back.. as well as the mexicans (parts of the southern states use to be mexico right?)

um so yeah as a canadian i could see the states being much better if everyone left :)

I think that it is the Mexicans who are working at the jobs that the lower class of blue collar workers "could' be working at but don't because the pay is too low. So, it is the lower class americans doing all the gripping and moaning about losing jobs they would not have anyway. Gotta pi** and moan about something. They do the same about the rich guy though. They sit around dipping their snuff and bit** about how much money the rich guy has and this and that and they know that most of them got their money by an education and it is the getting of an education which the gripers made fun of and shunned when they had the chance. They dug their fuc**** grave, let'em die in it.
