Explain how the country would go in a downward spiral. It seems to me that it would open up a lot of jobs for legal Americans. A low paying job is better than no job at all. By the way, it's not about emotion, it's about the law and logic.

Illegals drained our economy.Look at California with 40 billions in debt.We pay huge sums for healthcare for them,education and crimes etc.On top of that they take dollars out of the economy to send home and we have no way of recuperating that loss.America is being drained.

I don't think it would put our country into a downward spiral at all. What exactly are they doing for our country that would allow for that? Anyway, I guess we could start with saving money on all prison inmates and quit giving them all a free education which costs lots of extra money because of the bilingual programs.

Try reading the Heritage Foundation report concerning the 2007 amnesty bill that failed. Amnesty would have cost us $2 TRILLION.
Not to mention what we already pay in services to illegal aliens.

You might also note that the cost of legalizing illegal aliens would be prohibitively expensive as well as compromising national security. We haven't the resources to properly process LEGAL immigrants, so how do you think we'd ever manage 20 million illegal aliens who have been working illegally under false or stolen identities? The security checks alone would break the bank. At $5,000 per, that alone would come close to the $100 billion ICE says removal would cost. Of course, most of us want employer sanctions enforced, so that illegal aliens will self-deport, thereby saving us the cost.

Oh, your previous post on another thread about the financial contributions of "immigrants" conflates legal immigrants and illegal aliens.

But the simple fact is, illegal aliens are law breakers. There's a saying, "Begin as you mean to go on." Illegal aliens don't get off to a good start in breaking the laws of a country they supposedly want to be a part of.

Why should we continue to allow people to break the law and then reward them by never acting upon the existing law?

These people are a burden on our economy. Have you ever been to an emergency room? They are full of people who don't speak a word of English and have no insurance. Thus they are also a burden on on health care system. And since they have no way, or intention, to pay they drive up the cost of health care for those of us who are citizens and do have to pay.

This is not about racism is is about law, and lawlessness. These people need to be sent packing. PERIOD!

Your assumption is a Myth. Most of us on the Pro law-enforcement side only want us to Secure the Border, Take away the Magnets that draw the Illegals here, and Enforce our Laws!

If we were to do those things then most of the illegal aliens would self deport. We would still need to deport any that are caught here illegally but by and far most would simply go back to their Country of Origin.

The rest of your assumptions are also Myths in that the American economy would flourish with the burden of 20-30 million illegal aliens lifted from our backs.

No one is advocating the overnight deportation of over 20 million illegal aliens that is the Myth Propagated by the anti-law enforcement side.

Well the economic impact might be lessened if people collecting unemployment and government subsidies were placed in those job openings and told if they didn't want to do that it is alright but all benefits are cut off if you don't take it or get fired for misbehavior or lack of performance. Unemployment would go down, American citizens would have jobs and the opportunity of advancement and happiness. I really don't care what race the illegal immigrents are so it is not racist-it is simply put they are criminals by definition being illegal aliens (they are not undocumented citizens or undocumented workers) the word in front should be illegal since the reason they are undocumented is that they violated the law when they came here. The round up and deportation could be handled by the Civilian Security Force that President Obama talked about in his July 2008 speech about volunteers.

E-verify is being used in 8 states that I know of, and in the states that have had it in place for more than a year have reported a drop in unemployment rates. Also, some of those states are using it in social services with a drop in recipients.
Any business that have lost their employees to immigration raids, have been more than able to replace them in short order with citizens looking for jobs.

It won't cost a dime to deport. Take away incentives, jobs, welfare, education, and uphold the 14th and they will leave on their own.
