They are not trying to get away from their culture. they are trying to get away from the poverty that is in their country. why do other americans that have immigrated here bring their culture with them? BECAUSE IT IS PART OF WHO THEY ARE.-stop eating tacos if u dont like mexican culture, no burritos or quesadilllas either. Dont drink tequilla,or corona. When u want landscaping done dont call them to get a quick efficient job done by them either. |

If they're so proud of Mexico, why don't they stay and fix it. The country's a mess and running away won't make it better. |

They're not trying to leave their culture...they're just leaving their country because they can make more money and have a better life in America than in Mexico. |

I don't think they are trying to get away from their culture it's that they just want a better life like everyone does and they want to have a better economy and I think there should stop blaming Mexican people for everything because not all Mexicans are the same. |

They sure do! It would seem to reason that instead of coming here to the country that they insult constantly, they would stay in their country and make things better. I'm sure that their buzzard rag would be more welcome there. I certainly don't want to see it here! |

What an ignorant question...
Mexico has a very rich beautiful culture. When Mexicans immigrate, they're just looking for better conditions to improve themselves, they are not running away from their culture.
One of the reasons the U.S. is such a rich, dynamic country is due to the constant influx of different people with different cultures. They bring new ideas and ways of seeing things wihich ends up being very good for anyone with an open mind. |

If all they know is filth and ignorance and they don't have an education, how can they possibly leave it all behind. They come here for a new life, true, they run from their corrupted, oppressive government so they can have more chances for success. They can't possibly understand what they have not experienced until they get here and learn about it. And they are not running from their culture only the government that allows massive amounts of people live in such poverty.
When I get upset is when some come and take advantage of America's generosity. They have the opportunity to work and educate themselves. Many of them use it. Others just remain here using a welfare system that was built for American citizens but now can't support them. There are many other things that bother me. The drug dealers, the rapists, the child molestors. But the truth of the matter is, Americans are doing all of that as well, so how can I blame it all on one group of people. |

What was that Pilgrim? their culture is a part of America's culture and history. Wise up |

What culture do they say they are getting away from? I think they are proud of their culture as well they should be. It's part of who they are . The environment ? Then no they aren't hypocritical The hispanics have wonderful strong family ethics and morals I would hope you wouldn't base your opinions on everyone as you have here on the few that aren't. I guess you think all Texans are like BUSH. |

No, sweetie, they don't want to get away from their culture, they want to get away from their government and economy. |

It isn't really their culture they're trying to escape from. It is the poverty and dirty leadership.
They hang onto it because it's what they understand. They created it just as we created our culture and no matter where I live, I would want my own. It's understandable.
However, after they're here for awhile, they will learn ours and adapt. Look at all the other immigrants that have come here and you'll see that's what they have done. Be a little patient. It's not easy for them either. |

wrong, their not escaping their culture - their escaping political and finacial limitations
they bring their culture with them - just as we all do
Pinatas and tacos are not what MExico is about - it's a gov't in jeopardy |

They aren't trying to get away from their culture. They are trying to get away from poverty, corrupt government, poor educational and employment options, all sorts of stuff. But not their culture.
People who come to the US bring their culture with them. They very rarely want to escape WHO they are, they want to escape WHERE they are, because they are in a bad environment that offers no hope of relief, either for them, or for their children. |

I' am half mexican and yes, it is totally hipocritical, not the fact that they want to maintain their culture, but the fact that some behave really badly, and instead of taking advantage of the oportunities, they keep the same, destructive mentality. |

They (immigrants) are not trying to get away from their culture they are trying to get away from poverty. If you saw the 400 square feet houses with dirt floors some of these people are leaving to come here you would understand why they do what they do. |

I think every culture and ethnic groups are hypocritical in their own ways. I mean if you think about the people who came to America wanted to get away from the Queen's ruling. But now the Gov't is wanting to tell us how to live our lives and what's best. |

They are coming here because they are living in sub-standard conditions, have little or no money, and if they work at all it's probably in sweat shops that would make the ones here seem like paradise.
This does not mean that they want to leave their culture behind - like any other group from other countries who relocated to the US, they would like to pass their culture down the generations. |

They're getting away from poverty, not culture. |

They are not trying to get away from their culture. They are trying to get away from poverty, unhealthy conditions, and no sense of securityy from the future. Just like any person from another country they want a better life not to totally erase who they are in life. |

It is hispanics in General. Some are doing fine, they work hard are clean and speak English. But there are those that live in a house with 3 or 4 families. This is not healty and they are not clean either. This is supposed to be against the law in Fla. But nothing seems to be done about it. A group gets together and buys a Home for a Family. But once the deal is done there are numerous people living there!!!!! I know of a rental place that the migrants stay at at harvest time. The gal who cleans it said they had feces in the corners and just stunk of urine. They slept on the boxxprings as well as mattresses. garbage evrywhere. Now they limit how many can stay. and they have to keep it clean or out they go. |

as nugatory said,
they're not running from their culture, they're running from poverty. they're running to the chance at a better life.
so yes its just you.
cause 1, they dont claim to be running from thier culture.
2, if no immagrants brought culture, there would be no america, America is the country whose culture was founded and will continue to have the cultures of many countries. (melting pot) |

It's you. You are an ignorant racist.
ALL immigrants bring their culture with them. Whether Irish, Italian, German or African. Mexicans are no different.
America does not have a culture. It is a mish-mash of dozens of cultures. It is a mongrel in terms of purity of culture. |

They are trying to get away from their government that keeps a majority in poverty. They have every right to maintain their culture. |
