I am getting married in 3 months to someone working abroad.. His company will be providing Visa and Tickets... if i dont change my name in my passport, will it be a problem in getting Visa/Tickets from his company.... or if providing marriage certficate to his company will be enough..?
and pls tell me how much time it takes for the change to take effect in my Passport..??

No change of name or surname necessary for the person to prove his or her marriage, what is most important a Valid Marriage certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriages where name of both parties, their age, their addresses & date/place of marriage etc is mentioned along with the Registration number & date of registration of the marriage.
The next important thing which is required the change of marital status in the passport of both parties i.e. from unmarried to married & addition of the name of the other Spouse in both their passports.
The fact in which country your fiancee is working & will be taking you on Spousal visa is not mentioned, however the Marriage Certificate you will be using to get the Spousal Visa/immigration, proper authentication or Apostillisation (as the case may be) by Ministry of External Affairs will be required & the immigration department of the foreign country will insist for the same before the Spousal Visa is issued to you. |

Vijay is right, he is a lawyer too!
Especially for international living, I find it better to stick to maiden name after marriage as all certificates and other documents will be in line. The name of husband in the passport and the marriage certificate will prove your marital status. |

The name on your passport must match the name on your ticket/visa.
And yes, if you are changing your name to his, you have to get a new passport.
