Wow. Speaking as an Englishman, you have exactly zero grasp of English history. Much of the wealth of Britain historically has derived from entering other people's countries illegally and stripping them of their assets - India, Africa, Ireland, various parts of Asia - you name it, Britain went there, slaughtered the local population, took anything worth taking and built churches on every corner to praise Jesus for the righteousness of their bullets and swords.
As for 'not playing by the rules' in the present-day UK, I'd love you to point out to me where the laws of the UK say it's illegal to build a mosque.
The Church of England isn't the biggest denomination in Britain, it's not even 2nd. The largest church going population is Roman Catholic, followed by Muslim, followed by C of E.
Not much point in building Protestant churches in Britain, Bangladesh or anywhere else if increasingly there's nobody to go into them. |

Hate your teachers who couldn't teach you how to punctuate.
Incidentally, for anyone following these types of things, there's a concerted online effort by the BNP to infest as many widely-read message boards as possible.
Those who can string two words together join as commenters at the likes of The Guardian Comments online section, The Times, Telegraph etc., etc.
The lower ranks get to make BNP-friendly noises here and on comments to stories online at the Sun, Mirror, NOTW etc.
If you thought you'd detected a pattern, you were right. It's a deliberate and ongoing strategy, formulated out of necessity because online is the only place where their lack of support, finance and numbers aren't evident.
The mouthbeathers are coming blinking out into the light and they have an anti-immigrant comment coming to a message board near you soon. |

First of all, I can understand the frustration people are going all over the world due to recent economic downturn (recession) that has taken away jobs of many indigenous people in developed world like the G-8 countries.
Therefore, I am just clarifying the part of your statement like "...if i went to bangladesh and asked is it ok to build a church on every corner i would have no hope..". I am from Bangladesh one of the largest church is about 200 meters from my house and we have also several mosques in the same vicinity. In Dhaka city I can possibly count at least 5 large churches, mostly for the Catholics since we have this tradition here though there are a few churches build for the Protestants too.
We have Catholic Relief Services (CRS)-Italy and hundreds of Christian missionaries working inside Bangladesh, without major incidents like burning the priest with sons inside their cars as reported from India. We had one bombing in a church in Khulna some 5-years ago and the first major incidents in our country if you want to hint 'persecution' of Christian. But trust me, we have Muslims, Hindus, Christian and Buddhists living here as harmoniously as possible in a country where people are led by emotion and frenzy due to the fact that vast majority or illiterate.
Therefore, I would hope that you would find it pleasant to visit Bangladesh and donate money to many Christian NGOs who are helping people irrespective of their religion and I was Instructor in such organisation back in 1976 and saw their working very closely.
Hope above helps. |

If you're a Christian, the correct answer is to hate the sin, but love and forgive the sinner. As you're concerned about the building of churches I guess you must be.
If you like churches, here's some pictures:

while here's the Wikipedia entry on the Anglican Church of Bangladesh.

But you would, of course, have no hope of building a church in Bangladesh. They just wouldn't allow it.
If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest man alive! |

Hate is a strong word, so no.
However there does seem a lot of people who wish to move countries and despise the country they chose to live in. |

Well if you are a Christian, no. Didn't Jesus say, "love they neighbor as thy self?"
And just because you disagree with people, religion aside, is no reason to hate them. You just don't agree with them.
I'm going to have to bring up some history here--the reason why the USA was founded in the first place was because colonists left Britain fleeing religious persecution. They were able to worship however they wanted and IF they wanted in the American colonies, which was not the case back in Britain. I see in that respect that England has not changed if some English people don't want people building Muslim mosques. They are still practicing religious intolerance.
And if in Bangladesh they would not let you build a church then they are just equally intolerant and two wrongs don't make a right. |

I saw on CNN a while back , the UN was trying to pass a law that anybody who spoke out against Islam it would be considered a hate crime at the same time Islam would be free to speak out about other religions
So there are some double standards out there |

please see the "sources" part of my reply Blue... you have demonstrated pretty well what is wrong with the world today... it's racist ppl like you.
you my friend (the guy asking the question) are ignorant and are asking a quesiton and giving an example on a topic you lack every bit of understanding or knowledge of.
why do i say that? let us look at your example
> eg. if i went to bangladesh and asked is it ok to build a church on every corner i would have no hope
and who told you that? have you been to bangladesh? do you even know where it is?
i am bangladeshi... i was born there, i went on holiday there... i live in the uk and have been doing so for most of my life. my first hand knowledge of bangladesh (i.e. having been there) tells me that there are a great nuber of churches there. the majority of the people respect all religions. islam teaches muslims to respect all religions. as the majority of bangladesh's population are muslims they tend to respect all religions. furthermore, those living close to churches were quite happy and warm towards their neighbours. those who do not lie the idea of churches do not live near them.
> yet in england if we dont allow huge muslim temples
muslim temples? muslims don't have temples so i have no idea what makes you think muslims have demanded huge temples... go do your research into temples and buildings used for worship.
> we are racist ?
your ignorance suggests the racism.
> anyone else got a problem with that or is it just me
just the uneducated.
i can understand your general issue about a lot of countries being very strict about religion (not just islamic states). but your example goes against you in that it reveals the foul smell of ignorance. you are motivated not by the idea of fairness, justice or respect but by ignorance alone.
you are not a victim of unfair treatment from muslims, you are a victim of your own stupidity.
ps. on the point of immigration and funding immigration i wonder how many of those people who complain the people of the uk are funding the lifestyles of immagrants actually work for a living and how many are living off benefits.
i was born a bangladeshi, i am a british citizen, i pay my taxes and they fund the lifestyle of a lot of unemployed british people... do you see me complaining about those living on benefits? what we should be complaining about as a whole is not the immagrants but our own dirt that is the criminals. we lock them up yet we give them good food, a gym, playstations and tvs... lock em up in a room with no bed, no windows, no food or water... that's punishment for crime... immigrants are not what your money is being wasted on... if at all you pay any taxes.
immagration is good for our country if anything. you will find a lot of foreigners coming here to work work damn hard and when they do a job it is to a very high standards... bit of a stereo type but who would you prefer working on building work in your house, british cowboy builders or foreigners coming here working very hard to make a living, doing a job well cos they know that their business is dependent on reputaiton and they only get that through hard work.
for the benefit of Typhoon, people are not farm animals. due to that simple fact your "logic" and comparison cannot be applied. i was born in bangladesh and was born a bangladeshi. as far as i am concerned, although documentation now shows me as being strictly brisith, i have dual nationality. i am a british bangladeshi... the uk is my home. so anyone such as Blue who has an issue with me being here... STOP living off my tax money and get out MY country. |

Lucman_c you where born in bangladesh but are a British citizen ?
thats the trouble with this country , if a dog is born in a stable you dont call it a horse !!!
much as im white British , if for some reason i want to be a citizen of
bangladesh , its possibly all legal but thats a man made formality
the truth is im not bangladeshi despite what my so called official papers say !!! its not racist its just bloody true !!! if a CROCODILE
wants to be a ZEBRA well its tough luck on the crocodile isnt it because it will never be !!! people should just accept what they are
because as in the same principle the crocodile will ALLWAYS be a crocodile regardless of man made bloody papers saying different

The people start to hate out of sheer frustration when the government is spineless and wont address the problem. None of the three main parties will address the Islam problem in this country, if you want Islam back under control, and eventually removed from Britain, then vote for the British national party. The British national party is there to serve the people, not to serve the greed fuelled parliamentary system, OR the infestation that currently inhabits it. |

Yes, it is okay! Hate is a feeling; just like Love, Anger and Pride are feelings. No one can make it illegal to have a feeling. Actions based on those feelings can be wrong, but, the feeling of an emotion is always OK. |
