Is it racist to label everyone opposed to illegal immigration as a racist?

My family immigrated to the United States and it makes me so angry to see people sneaking into this country. My family had to work hard and went through the proper channels to get to this country why should they get to come here for free!

But people opposed to illegal immigration are not necessarily racist.

No, in both cases it is the wrong application of the true definition of racist.

However, even as a person who is opposed to illegal immigration, I must admit that there are a few who share my legal views that do make racist remarks. They come from both sides, actually. However, that is only a handful on both sides of the debate - most people, regardless of views, are smart enough to leave race, ethnicity, and culture out of it.

No you have to have and express a negative stereotype against a specific race for it to be considered racist.

People who oppose illegal immigration do so for a variety of reasons. However to hate people because of their opinion is hateful and ignorant.

illegal immigration is a plague.

people opposed to illegal immigration are mostly not racist. i dont want some person from who knows where (mexico most likely, don't argue with the fact that MOST, by far, illegals come from there) coming here undocumented. this is unsafe for US citizens, AS WELL AS THEMSELVES! they can be taken advantage of and paid below minimum wage, as well as not have the perks that citizens have (such as protection under laws, etc).

Yes, it would racist to label everyone opposed to illegal immigration as a racist. That's why I don't do it. Instead, I label as racist people who make derogatory and contemptuous remarks about Hispanic people, for the purpose of exposing them to contempt and ridicule--if not hatred and violence.
