Is it time to shut the door?

I Quote from a Yahoo news story:
Eleven Pakistani nationals, ten of whom hold student visas, and one UK-born Briton are being questioned at various locations in the UK.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown spoke to Pakistan's president, Asif Ali Zardari, on Thursday night amid concern about the number of suspects who had come to the UK from Pakistan on student visas.
Pakistan's High Commissioner, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, dismissed claims that his country was not doing enough to tackle the extremists, insisting it was the UK that needed to do more.
He said the Pakistani authorities could help carry out background checks on student visa applicants but were not allowed to.
.....foreign national students were checked against watchlists of criminals and suspects from other countries.
So if Pakistan is not allowed to do background checks on the students, how exactly can it be said that the list is comprehensive? If we only check against the list, we WILL be missing lots of potential criminals on their way in to the UK.
In the light of this inability to adequately screen people entering the UK, and the Pakistani President's insistance that it is up to the UK to prevent them from entering, ie the fault of the UK immigration system for letting them in, then is it not time to shut the door? If the Pakistani Government wont help by tightening regulations so as to not export terrorists, the responsibility falls solely on the UK, surely we HAVE to do something now?

pull out of europe
stop paying millions of pounds to country's in support who hate us and are supposed to be in dependant now.

we have to pull our belts in re evaluate who we have here, and why they are not working, british born too.

its not right that people who have never paid a penny into the system arrive here age 64 and then claim benefits and get free health care until their death.

when our own pensioners who have worked hard all their lives and in many cases fought to keep this country free are forced to give up their homes an almost all of their savings to pay for care.

Yes it is. I agree that it is shutting the stable door after the horse has buggered off but we need to something!

I agree with the posting that pointed out that we have lots of islamic extremeists in Uk who are british citizens. However, how can the government tackle that issue properly when, year after year more immigrants are entering the UK, many of which are compunding the terrorism problem.

Am I fed up of watching crimewatch and the news only to witness that 90% of featured criminals are immigrants? - yes

If we can't screen them properly, they're not getting in.

if the government doesnt change soon, i smell an uprising in the future.
we gave the government to much power and allowed them to make to many bad decisions, i think there should be a United Kingdom vote for the slamming the door shut case.

Seriously, shutting the door is only half the problem. There are plenty of British born muslims who hate our guts enough to bomb us, look at 7/7.

New labour are importing voters. without Immigrants, they wont get into power next year. If they are allowed to continue to bring Islamic immigrants in at this pace. they will have out flanked the British voters, and handed our democracy to Islam. But as long as they are in power, they couldn't care less for the people of Britain.

I would suggest that things have to change.

I would not say shut the door, just keep it a jar.

Alas I think the horse has bolted already, new labour are inept, deluded, corrupt and malicious.

They have completely failed in their mandate to 'govern' the UK for the best interests of the UK electorate..
