you're full of it...see a therapist! DEPORT!!!! |

No, you have it all wrong. There are legal ways to get into this country. The criminals who sneak across the border are breaking our laws, and to stop them the border needs to be tightened even more, much more. Letting legal immigrants in has nothing to do with the illegals who try to sneak in. |

The border is wide open and it is the reason why there are many illegals in the US. |

sweetie, Americans can do all those jobs. We do not need more illegal people in our country. The border is not secure enough. American Idol is almost on. |

Absolutely not, and hold onto your seat because it is going to get a lot tougher for illegal aliens to get into America and a whole lot easier to be deported. A little F.Y.I for you, those jobs you mentioned (at least meatpacking) payed 4 times as much twenty years ago as it does today. Those are jobs American men used to raise a family of four on AND have the standard of living that Americans are accustomed to. I am not taking ANY responsibility at all for the deaths of people who die while committing a crime, as a matter of fact, I am constantly speaking out against it. I am hoping that you will not carry this idea further by insinuating that bank vaults are to difficult to get into and should be easier because thief's are hurting themselves in their attempt to steal. |

Our schools are failing our own children due to too great demand particularly by poor, nonEnglish speaking illegal immigrants who are the hardest and almost most expensive (save disabled) to educate. Our hospitals are closing due to all those getting 'free' emergency health care, and health care costs are becoming unaffordable to those who never sought to get it for free.
Until we can take care of our own poor, young, sick and elderly, we have no business taking in more of those groups from other countries. |

They all need to go home.
As for no American doing the work, what about the Americans that cannot compete with the wage they get??? If a contractor has to charge X amount for something to be built, and an illegal can do it for 1/3 of the price but does not have a contractor license or insurance is that right????
They need to go home. Let them protest round them up (they will be in the open) bring them to the desert point them south and let them walk out. They walked in so they can walk out. |

Wait a minute, "Jobs Americans don't want" or jobs that once payed a living wage with benefits have been down graded with this illegal labor, unions busted, work conditions down graded, pay down graded, think you really don't understand the situation, or maybe you have never worked for a living. |

great Joke, very funny.
Illegal's should be forced out |
|

PenguinMan

No we shouldn't. The only reason they are hired is because they will work for dirt cheap. Most americans will do the jobs, just not for the wages the businesses want to pay. And our border security is not tight enough. Too many people come across too easily. |
|

NONAME

Hell no!!!!
It costs all legal tax payers millions of dollars each year to support the freebies the illegals are getting.
I say, secure all borders to keep the illegals out.
Building a secure fence that is effective would cost less than supporting the illegals that are here know.
Rounding them up and shipping them back would be more economical too.
Penalties imposed on businesses that hire illegals would help pay for a more secure United States of America. |

no our borders are not secure enough! get rid of welfare and the minimum wage and then americans will work. there is no incentive to go work if you are getting paid better to sit on your keister than actually go out and earn a living. there is no reason for the government to tell an employer what labor is worth...let the market tell the employer what the labor is worth, if he cant get or keep employees he has to pay better. |

No our borders are not too tight - Hello - 911 would not have happened if we know who was in our country. Have you ever travel outside the US? Talk about knowing your business and tight secruity. Some countries never let their people leave without fear of death if they don't return if they let them out at all. Romaina won't let anyone leave unless they have family but they better return or else.
It is way too easy to get in, stay and fly under the radar. The country doesn't know eveyone who is here or why and visas have expired but they are still here and not made to leave.
It is not brain surgery to become a US citizen but it does take sometime. Like anyother country you must learn about it and the language i.e. germany. In Germany you must be fully indoctrinated and speak. Crud here we let them in not expectation to learn english. That is wrong! It only keeps people in a low income when they don't learn to function in the country they are in. It is an insult to our country and to those who have taken the time to swear their allegiance to just open the doors. California cant afford anymore immigrant illegals with the welfare and babies being born as US citizens.
Have you ever watched the cable show Dirty Jobs - There are some really horrid dirty filthy jobs that people do and I have to tell you none of them were illegal aliens - none of them. They were hard working proud Americans breaking their backs with hard work and ingenuity. Moving Poop, Tanning leather and painting bridges and going into small dark places that you would never dream someone would work. But they do. |

No, because they come here to work and send their money back home. They are only exploiting our system to benefit themselves. Most only are overpopulating our society and they refuse to assimilate to our culture. The crime rate has increased, and since immigrants aren't citizens they don't get punished, just deported and they just come right back. If the government and economic situation was more stable in Mexico we would see them returning, because they still retain that culture and patriotism. People risked their lives before to come here, but to do so legally. We welcome anyone who wants to come and dwell peaceably and lawfully. Not those who exploit our wealth and multiply like rabbits on viagra. I feel sorry for the children and women but life is tough. I think it would be beneficial to both countries if the US outsourced and built the packing plants and refineries in Mexico so they could have the work and we could have a less crowded, less polluted, and completely English-speaking country. |

They're not just taking jobs nobody wants. Everyday they go and do high-pay jobs that they do not have a clue how to do correctly (i.e. plumbing, electrical, ect. ect.) take the money from the people, and the people who can't pass their inspections with the horrible work end up paying extra. Illegal immigrants need to be kept out. They are ruining people's lives and America's economy as a whole. If they come legally, and bother to learn the language, and work at normal wages, then it's fine, otherwise, they need to stay in their own country. |

You are a fool. That is the last thing we need. And there are lots of illegals working in the oil refinery business are there; news to me. |

Here's part of the problem.
You're standing in line waiting for the movie. People then start pushing in line ahead of you. You've played by the rules, now you're far back in the line and might not get in. Is that fair?
In 1980 the Mariel Boatlift saw some 125,000 Cubans reach our shores. More than 23,000 of them had previous criminal convictions. Normally that would have prevented them from coming here.
Some of those coming in want to hurt the nation. There must be some sort of screening to identify potential terrorists. Ahmed Ressam, was stopped by U.S. Customs officials with Ten 110-pound plastic bags of urea, a legal substance used in fertilizer that can also be used to make explosives.
Our borders are also the best place to stop smuggled drugs reportedly 80% of the meth is smuggled in from overseas.
To quote one source:
"The seminal study of the costs of immigration by the National Academy of Sciences found that the taxes paid by immigrants do not begin to cover the cost of services received by them. The quality of education, health care and other services for Americans are undermined by the needs of endless numbers of poor, unskilled illegal entrants. "

Illegal immigrants don't have social security cards. There's a black market in stolen identity so they can work in the US. One source estimates people with the wrong social security number as 9 million. |

First. I do not have a problem with legal immigrants. Illegal immigrants have shown they have no respect for our laws. Second. 55% of farmer laborors are Americans. Americans will do these jobs. Third. Our border security can never be too tight. With Al Queada known making contact with the gang MS-13, we must step up enforcement for NATIONAL SECURITY. |

It's really not that difficult, if you're in Northern Mexico then you can easily make into the US, provided you don't try to cross an incredibly remote part of the desert with no survival skills. |

They need to overhaul the whole system, but since that will never happen, you're gonna see more border disputes, more fences put up, and more laws enacted, shot down, and disputed. |

momoffour

No. The fact that people are still getting in means it's not tight enough. If they want to come in, they can do it legally. |
