Racism is Tribalism, its natural for anybody to have this, look at all the Tribal warfare that has happened throughout history, biblical times, etc. Its not alien.

It seems to me that there is some truth in what you say. It seems more logical to fear and be untrusting of others that don't look like you than to trust them with no reason to do so.
The climate in those days was much rougher than now, every day humans were on the survival mode, now things are and should be much more relaxed.

Ive asked myself and others this question dozens of times!When you look at how the world was back in pre history we were separated by water and white people were no were near the land were people were darker skinned or black.Oceans separated races and no were else in the animal world do say cats mix and live in harmony.Take for instance monkey's; all primates identical genetically yet in the jungle separate and chimps even hunt Colobus monkey.Tigers do not chill with leopards or cheetah's.Yes we have reasoning powers but not when it comes to survival of the species,ie being culturally taken over by mass immigration of people from very different lands,belief systems and races. |

I like your theory. Racism is not restricted to the Caucasian race. I speak from experience since I am Caucasian and grew up in a black community where 67% of the population was black and 90% of the elected officials up to the state level were black. And believe me it was tough to be white in this place. |

Deep down everybody is racist. It doesn't matter what your colour is you will be against another race. This will never change despite what the government and the pc brigade tell us to do it's human nature. |

The reasoning behind this question is logical and sound ie humans have a tendency to forge groups made up of similar types be it race intelligence or anything and reject other groups.
In these PC times such truths are considered unpalatable and are therefore subject to censorship.
Suppressing the truth never works and you can confidently expect the kettle to boil over.

No. racism isn't 'natural' at all. We aren't born racist. It is something that we learn as we grow up. Bruno Humph is right to say it's ones upbringing and environment that largely determines if a person is a racist.
If we look at history, or more importantly, pre history, we see that our natural instinct as human beings is to co-operate and support each other.
People going out on a Saturday night, getting drunk, then beating each other up is far from 'natural' behaviour. It has become part of a subculture. You don't have to come from a different town or have a different accent to become a victim of random violence. Also. more and more women are getting into drunken brawls. This kind of debunks your 'dominant male' theory.
I don't really understand all the thumbs down for the people who give a materialist explanation for your question. The human race could not have survived if we were consumed by fear and suspicion of each other.
Yeah, I agree with Wolfie inasmuch as your premise is fundamentally flawed. You need to do some research into how early humans related to each other. |

there are a couple of flaws in your premise.
First of all, the whole of the community would defend their territory, both male and female. Not so much against other tribes, although this did happen from time to time, but rather against predators.
Patriarchal society's are not natural, but rather political. We also have examples of Matriarchal society's too. In Patriarchal society's men tend to consider women as too weak and delicate to fight wars. If you look at some conflicts, however, you will see that women take leading roles in battles. The Russian Revolution and the Spanish civil war are 2 good examples of this. To a lesser extent the IDF too.
Men and women have been uniting against racism for a few hundred years now. (racism is a relatively modern phenomenon).
Also, racism is an irrational fear that can be stoked up by manipulative political groups to gain support for a cause.
Blokes get drunk and fight each other in the UK but look at places like France, Italy, Germany, and many other country's. There cultural reasons for the violence you describe. People from Manchester fight each other, and they share the same accent. The reasons for the violence are not based in logic whereas, the violence of tribal times was.

Sorry, but it sounds like crap.
You can defend your family, cave, village or country from people of the same race. People are not told by government and governments are consisted of people. "Dominant males" are not backward males; I love soccer, but so called "soccer fans" are the last I would look up for example how to behave. |
