Is the American worker being sold out to illegals?

Yeah they are being sold out but they deserve it. They chose to vote for people who openly said they were going to,

1. Lower there wages(by not enforcing immigration laws thus causing wages to be lower since there is no demand for workers, rather a surplus)

2 Raise there taxes(so illegals can continue to get welfare, housing, food stamps)

So they can cry me a river, if they were really concerned about there jobs, future, family and livelihood, they wouldnt have voted for people who were so determined to take everything from them

Illegal immigrants aren't some how handed out free jobs. They compete with legal citizens. That's why now days many illegals are leaving the US because of layoff lot of legal citizens are taking kind of jobs they wouldn't have couple of years ago.

I understand your concern. i really don't have an answer (so does nobody else.....). this whole illegal immigrant situation is a delicate matter. always remember, these are humans we are talking about, not some animals. there are so many "push and pull factors" that make illegal come to this country that have to be considered. a huge problem with millions of illegal immigrants (besides the "illegal" part) is that they don't pay taxes. with amnesty comes a whole wave of new tax payers that fall under a different legal category (in a way that it might even be easier to persecute offenders). And there is another side to the story. who do these illegal immigrants (note: not always mexicans!) work for? you don't think that's at least half of the problem? these people are the ones that make it even possible for illegals to work. with amnesty these people would be forced to pay minimum wage. the workforce marked would be more level because now illegal couldn't work for less.

but i understand that that's just in (naive) theory. this whole subject is giving me a headache. i wish i could come up with something that would make everybody happy.

i guess this doesn't help much with your question. i don't necessarily support the amnesty solution. my main thing is that you should always try to see it from different angles. there are so many facets to this problem... thats what makes it so hard to tackle...

This has been going on for at least 30 years, only now the politicians are open about their support. Big business wants cheap labor and big politics wants illegal votes. What a country!

NO! the American worker has easier alternatives today.....they just don't make American workers like they use to.....LOL.

Jobs are given to the illegal immigrants because they know they'll show up to work on time without making demands for higher wages, longer breaks, weekends and Holidays off.

It's not going to be that easy. They won't just legalize all illegals.They will select depending on their family status otherwise they can lay out all of the immigration offices. And the other thing is that the mexican have not lot to offer. So they maybe steal jobs from americans but all they can steal are the dirty jobs. This should motivate the people to go to college.And now when Obama is trying to raise taxes for businesses the one way how to save money is to hire illegals.In that case they won't claim taxes on them. So the politics is pretty dirty cycle that I don't think any president will be able to clean up that mess :-)

Illegals offer the biggest untapped source of potiential teamsters labor union members.

And we all know the democrat party gets big bucks from Big Labor Union, and union members vote for democrats.
