Yes, but is not because of the birth control issue,,, is more than that. Have you notice that the majority of the Catholics are from poor countries, like Mexico, Latin America, etc. And they were poor when they became converted by the Catholic Church many many centuries ago and today they are still poor. Ain't that a way the Church make their money from their ignorants and become what the Church is the richest organization in the world. I just wonder!!! Ignorance is the way the Catholic Church, Communist governments and Dictatorship government keep control of you for their own purpose.

well first of all that's just their beliefs. the catholic church has no control over who does or doesn't follow those beliefs. so no they aren't. the people who choose to follow that belief are to blame. how about looking at our government? they have billions of dollars to pay for a war and set up large bases with fast food places etc on them in another country but they can't feed the starving or house the homeless.

Perhaps the Catholic church would like to be the majority of the world's population as the hispanics would like to be the majority in the US. It seems like the same concept to me. The poverty is left for all of us to deal with. Now that I think about it, the hispanic invasion might be somewhat due to the Catholic church wanting to control the US. Especially since they think we should welcome all of them and provide for them. This certainly is causing a rise in poverty in the US. For citizens as well as illegals. It's just that the illegals get more help and we just have to deal with it. For now.

It is 'society' that causes extreme poverty, not the Catholic or any other church/religion. And the Catholic church does give both food and clothes and also offers help in many other areas of life ... FOR FREE. Even the St. Vincent dePaul stores sell stuff only to raise money to give to the poor ... and they sell it at low prices so more people can get the things they need. Yes, I am a Catholic ... but have you ever 'heard' a Catholic force someone to 'listen to a religious speech or propaganda' before you can have your 'free supper' or go to bed on a mat on the floor? NO, because we DON'T DO THAT. That's why you may 'think' you 'know' what Catholic beliefs are ... but you DON'T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. Too bad, because we choose to follow Jesus teaching 'Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing' in relation to giving charity, you don't have a clue HOW MUCH MONEY/TIME the Catholic Church actually gives ... but we'll still give you as much as we can, and pray for you behind your back ... and you can 'go on' believing LIES if you want to. That is UP TO YOU.

Catholic church allows abstinence and Naturla family planning (both forms of birth control) As a 32 year old woman without children, I use the Nuva ring, and still belong to the catholic church, as many others do. Besides, the church has all knids of charities that combat poverty

So if I go screw around without birth control (my choice) and a woman gets pregnant, somehow this is the fault of the Catholic Church? I'm sorry, but that is incorrect. You are responsible for your own actions, no matter what!!!

If you are poor and have 10 kids, you can put them up for adoption, educate yourself and get a job that pays more money or do ANYTHING that will help YOURSELF, but quit trying to blame someone else for your own problems. It's a waste of energy.

There are other religions with the same scandals going on within. There are other religions that don't agree with birth control. What about the Mormons and Souther Baptists? We are all God's children no matter what religion. You sound like a very hostile, miserable woman determined to put down Latinos so you take it out on Yahoo. You sound like a skin head.
