Your kidding right?
This Country accepts more LEGAL immigration then all other industrial countries combined every year. What the hell else do you guys want. Go away! |

Uh....Where does it say on the Statue to come here Illegaly, and use our Welfare system and Tax Dollars?
And not pay any taxes?
I guess I missed that part...........
Nope, the Inscription works just fine..... |

I missed that line that said, "Sneak in & express your contempt for this country, her citizens & her laws." |

We need to change the wording to: "We are filled to capacity," until we find out who is here, and why. |

I think you are perpetuating the problem mindset that 'more more more' people should PRECEDE the 'more more more' schools and hospitals and service funds it will take to serve them.
Address the IMPACTS next time.
It isn't the people, it is the numbers.

However, do you think for a second that a nineteenth century poetess would have included those coming in violation of our laws in that poem?
NOWHERE does it say 'send us your lawbreakers.' |

Razor Jim

Maybe we should change the words to include 'your legal' because many people seem to be confused. |

Our current immigration policy would be plenty good enough to still fit the bill.
The problem with most of the illegal immigrants is that they are only here for the money, not the freedom. They have families and homes back in Mexico, where they send their paycheck every weekend.
If they were really interested in becoming Americans, then I would be far more likely to support some type of legislation that would give them an easier way of becoming Americans. |

The inscription is fine, our laws are the ones that are screwed up, or the enforcement of them. It shoul dbe easier for good people to become legal citizens and the $675 is only the first fee as there are other hiddn fees! |

Yes, it is time to wipe that outdated poem off the Statute of Liberty. I am tired of pro-illegal alien traitors whining about the Stature of Liberty. We don't need poor, ignorant masses anymore, we need the wealthy, educated, and talented to come into our country. We allow in more aliens than all the other countries in the world combined, not including the illegal alien invaders.
You really need to learn about the problems caused by hordes of illegal aliens invading our country from Mexico, and stop being so sentimental and soft. Grow a pair, man! |

?????????? Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" ??????????
I recommend a fence along the border with Mexico rather than a golden door.
I might even agree with a 20 meter deep mine field and 50 meter deep razor wire fence. But definitely not a golden door! |

There should, but its the unhonest ones that want to sneak into our country and not adapt to our culture and speak our language. |

With 300 million Americans inside the borders of the United States where exactly do you suppose we continue to put people. We are mowing down forests and moving mountains to build homes and hwys without end.
People do not have the any God given right to be here- they have the privilege of being here. That would include me- I can't help I was born here.
Immigrants especially should be able to realize the difference. |

BUILD THE WALL

Not outdated
Nothing changes until they build the wall
Then ask if there need to be changes
It should be hard to come to the greatest country on the planet |

No, your interpretation of the inscription is. The author certainly did not mean for the tired and the poor to sneak in illegally or live off of our taxes while paying none. The tired and the poor are welcome to come in as long as they do it LEGALLY. |

It is a bit outdated. Most of the freedoms that America represents did not exist in most parts of Europe at the time. You can breathe free in many parts of the world today.
But leave it alone. The USA should really stand for something more than its GDP. |

If you petition this country and come invited as a legal immigrant, you're still welcome. But extortionists spouting that they'll take over our country are not welcome, now or in the future. There are limits on everything. Especially treasonistic race hate groups. Stealing identities and defrauding our welfare system and aid programs is not the way to be here. Refusing to learn English and assimilate proved their separatist ideals! We don't need more criminals. |

I don't believe we should base current immigration policy on an old plaque that actually has nothing to do with the Statue of Liberty. |

The problem isn't that they are coming, it's that they are coming to a welfare state and will, no doubt, be taking advantage of that, while putting the rest of us out. I promote a libertarian society (as they did when those words were embraced). |

I agree with you. The US is made up of immigrants. Most of us have been here less than three generations. Our grandparents were people who wanted more and who were willing to undergo some hardship, work hard, move to a strange place and even learn a new language to improve their lot in life. So our nation was made up of the strongest, most adventurous, most ambitious, and most adaptable people of other nations. That's what makes America great!
There's even a good joke about that. Why doesn't Mexico have an Olympic team? Because every Mexican who can run, swim, or jump is in the US. I don't know if that's racist or insulting to Mexicans, and I don't mean it that way. But in a way it's true! The people who come here from Mexco are people who want more out of life and are willing to work hard to get it! |
