This is a bad thing. This planet has limited resources and space. The more people, the more resources are used and the more space is taken up.

Population growth frightens me, I fear overcrowding and I wonder about the future. Most of the land near my home in Florida is over developed and it seems like they're just cramming people together, nobody has any space, and in my opinion, population growth will only make this worse.

It is utterly necessary to maintain economic growth. One of the worst things happening in Russia is it's negative birth rate, which means the youngest working generation isn't making enough to protect older generations. As a result their age expectency is dropping to disturbing levels as older people starve.

You need to keep a growth rate (whether through birth or immigration) at about 2.4 to maintain the slight growth necessary to pay for the retired generation.

Thus, growth is necessary. We've only developed approximately 5% of American land - so we've got plenty of room to grow.

Bad. At best it is a pyramid game to bolster 'leadiing economic indicators' (not including school or health care quality) but we will have to feed and water all of those people, down line. Especially in the Southwest, the water is limited, and we had consciously cut back our population to maintain space and resources.

I think it's an important milestone, we've ticked through 100, 200, and now 300 million people in just under a century. We'll never catch India or China, but that might just turn out to be a blessing, of sorts...more population means more development, means less arable land open for agriculture, less open land to absorb water to feed wells, more pollution, more power usage, more water usage, more sewage, more garbage, overcrowding, and more frictions between people thrust into tight proximity with their neighbors.

If you think traffic jams are bad NOW, give it 20 years...

First things first, this counties population has been over 300 million. They include mainly births, ummmmmmmm we have about 20 million illegals (of all races) living here. It its a VERY BAD thing. I would be worried about things like the econmy, resources, jobs, food, healthcare, etc. More people=more things needed....the water is eventually gonna run out!

Population growth is a good thing for the economy in the sense that more consumers means more growth in the economy. Since there is is adequate food and resources right now, it is not a problem. It may be in the future.

More people also mean more pollution, closer proximityand exposure to disease and affects of pandemics.

See what the overpopulation in AFrica with limited resources does. Famine, untreated disease and war between unhappy people.

i dont like it.. to many people in my school even though it was pose to be a school with less people but it is over populated.. and everywhere is being over populated because my town is growing and it shouldnt because it is pose to be small..
so i am going to say.. a bad thing.

It is good and bad, it is good in the sense that we need younger americans to pay taxes to take care of older ones, but bad in the sense that we are using the planet's resources at too high a rate per person. It is also bad in that our world population growth is unsustainable.
