Wouldn't it be interesting if Caldaron came up here and said that either Obama gets us under control, or he would be overthrown. Be interesting if he said.. get them under control, or we will allow the terrorists from Cuba to get over the border.

A question to be asked: would Caldaron create a war situation rather than allowing the deportion of the illegal aliens in this country?

In New Mexico, Public Broadcasting has run a program that indicated the new Arizona Law had already cause trouble. Get this straight: the narrator was speaking as though the law was in place and maybe a month old. In any case, he gave an example of the effects of the law that were astonishingly bad. A Pastors wife was pulled over, and told if she had not had her I.D., she would have been deported.

NPR did this. It has been a political organ for the illegal aliens for a number of years, but that one was way over the line.

And he is suppose to be so smart ( and he is the President) .Why does he protect the illegals over the American citizens?
Too all those out there that say AZ NEW immigration laws. They are not NEW. They are the same laws that we have had for ages and they are the same laws that the other 49 states have.The only difference is the federal government should be enforcing them and they are not! So, AZ is enforcing the laws themselves.

NO, it means a person is unlawfully in another country. Whether it's a misdemeanor , as in the US, or a felony, as in Mex., it's against the law to reside in a country without legal papers.

I think the terms "illegal/legal" is irrevelant when this country is talking about making the illegal "legal". The term "illegal,illegal, illegal" is nothing more than a shibboleth in debates with pro-immigration people and it isn't a very effective argument if you're honestly hoping to change their mind imo.

Much of the west had been settled by "illegal' homesteaders at the times but people finally came around to realizing what is the reality and decided to make it legal.

That aside, I think there are good points in not allowing amnesty for these people such as welfare issues since many of these people would qualify for welfare and "bankrupt" the system. I think if you're going to argue, it's better to argue from here.

if you are referring to illegal immigrants, then no, it is not. I don't understand why they risk their lives to cross the border. This is our country. We were the ones who decided to kill the natives and plunder the land.

It's not hard for me to understand but try explaining it to EVERYONE living in the US as we are ALL descendants of immigrants, and most of our ancestors didn't ask the Indians if they could live here and steal their land, destroy their way of life, did they?
Also you should read your history book. Much of the "American West" was actually Mexican territory before anglos illegally entered it + provoked the Mexican-American war shortly thereafter.

It depends. It was once illegal to help free slaves. If I was living in that time it would have been hard to understand just as it is today. I think we're going to keep on making mistakes as a society and as a nation but in the future we'll look back and see things clearly :(
