No, no matter how much money you have you still to get the proper visa to move to Australia, then meet residency requirements before you can become a citizen
There is a difference between residency and citizenship. |

No, absolutely not. Even if you're extremely wealthy, you must prove that you are already an experienced and successful business person and must use your money to establish a new business or take over an existing business which will employ Australians and contribute to our economy. If you can do all of that AND have state or territory sponsorship, you may be granted a permanent visa and after 4 years of living in Australia, you may apply for citizenship.

If you do not have state sponsorship, you will only be granted a provisional visa and must actively and successfully manage the business for at least 2 years before applying for a permanent visa.

no money whatever amount will give you automatic citizenship. If you do get in, you cannot claim any Benefits from the state for 2 years, and if you do not have a trade and a job in view, then you have to be sponsered by an Australian citizen , who has to vouch for you good behaviour and welfare for the first 2 years of residence. |

No. You have to have a trade as far as im aware. To contribute to their economy. |

Maybe, the UK allows two types of immigrants based on wealth - investors and businesspeople. Maybe Australia has the same thing. |

Why is it that "arm chair experts" haunt question and answer websites and give inaccurate, outdated or blatantly wrong information in answers?
While no amount of cash can buy citizenship, it will allow a person who satisfies the criteria to obtain a visa to live in Australia, subject to approval.
All applicants are treated individually. There is no blanket rule to say yes or no. Each case is judged/decided on it's own individual merits.
Refer to the Australian Immigration Website for the facts.... not "arm chair experts".
The Immigration information page for investors and retirees to enter & remain in Australia is here.

"This information is about applying for an Investor Retirement
visa for Australia.
This visa is for self-supporting people who wish to retire in
Australia and have no dependents, other than a spouse. You
must have sponsorship from an Australian state or territory
government, where a designated investment will be made.
This is not a visa that leads to permanent residence or
citizenship in Australia.
Who can apply?
You can apply for an Investor Retirement visa if you meet
financial thresholds and:
• are 55 years of age or older;
• are sponsored by an Australian state or territory government
agency;
• have no dependent children or other dependent family
members other than a spouse;
• if married or in a de facto relationship, your partner has no
dependent children or other dependent family members;
• have evidence that you, and your spouse if applicable, hold
a private health insurance package that meets Australian
Department of Health and Ageing (DHA) guidelines during
the period of your intended stay in Australia;
• have no intention of working full-time in Australia (you, and
your spouse if applicable, will only be allowed to work up to
20 hours per week while in Australia);
• are of good character.
Note: New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory do
not provide sponsorship for investor retirees.
To meet financial thresholds you must:
• be able to make a minimum designated investment of:
– AUD500,000 in your name or your name and your spouse’s
name, in the state or territory in which you have been
sponsored if you intend to live in a regional area; or
– AUD750,000 in your name or your name and your spouse’s
name, in the state or territory in which you have been
sponsored if you intend to live in a non-regional area;"
While this visa does not lead toward citizenship, an application can be accepted after 2 years of residence and judged on it's own merit. |
