they were being predjudiced, by mocking other peoples nationalities.
Anyway, F them, any one with any sense knows the grass is greener in Ireland because it rains EVERY SINGLE BLOODY DAY!!! |

They were just joking. Now if the two white guys were making RUDE comments like that to each other, then they were being "nationalists", not racist. Racism would be when two people of different ethnic backgrounds argue and make jokes like that. |

That's not racist. We have a riddle here in the US--Why does Mexico never send a team to the Olympics? Because all the Mexicans who can run, climb or swim are in the US. Same thing. |

Don't take it personal, It's just like knock knock jokes! |

All the places they brought up, Ireland, eastern Europe are predominantly Caucasians. In other words, white people making jokes about white people.
I don't see how you can call that racist.
We make jokes about people from Kentucky all the time. It's not racist. |

Be careful with questions like this.
I know of an account which was suspended for asking who thought a joke about a Mexican, Iraqi, and redneck white girl was offensive. |

It is not racist.
Sadly those who say it is are actually doing tremendous harm to the fight against it. They are just intolerant and in many ways that can fuel racism!!!!! |
|

~*WOW*~

It's a conversation/joke that can be perceived as racist if the right, or in this case, wrong person heard it and was offended. Almost like a blonde joke, some blonde's would be offended, while others would laugh because it's funny. So this question is more of whats peoples opinions, not what is fact. |

you must have positive attitude. although it may appear to you as racist comment but they may be joking with themselves unknown to fact that an individual belonging to that region is feeling bad . but even if you face such a situation in future you may crack a similar joke but not directly hurting them .
HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD DAY |

This isn't racist. These joke are about where people are, not saying that they are inferior. They don't demean anyone. People need jokes to let off steam and if we say that jokes like these are racist, we are implying that racism is just a little thing. Real racism is real abuse and we need to put all our energy into fighting it, not into worrying about harmless jokes. |

I think that is a very sad joke. |

Abdul,
you cd disregard their comments as childish and immature and move on.
I am sure this is not the 1st time you have heard such ridiculous jokes. It cd be just some young guys fooling around. When given more time and thought, they might not say those things again.
I am of a minority group in Australia. I have heard these racist jokes before. I empathise with you. But I am used to them and not all of them here are racist. Many are very tolerant and friendly. There are always some bad apples everywhere. So, just 'one ear-in and one ear-out', mate. Tolerate and let live is the global way to living.
Cheers |

Just sounds like a joke.
This is a free country and we have the right to tell jokes that might seem offensive to others. I suggest you wear earplugs to avoid overhearing such shocking things. |

Well Mr truth or can i call you abdul , stop being a Nancy boy . it was a joke . Lari M and angel eyes are a couple of Homo's who like you can not take a joke . Oh and by the way if this kind of joke was said in Sudan would it be called racist over their and would you get a £80 on the spot fine for it . If you don't like the way the proper British people talk and act then go back to Sudan , problem solved . All you foreigners do when you come here is take our taxes and try to blow the country up that as helped you . Be a good chap abdul and piss off back to Sudan and get your Giro their and take Lari M and angel eyes with you . |

You will always get remarks like that if you are from another country so you either except it or go back to where you came from. |

Just joking around.
The problem with Racialism is that it can be taken too far; if you consider a joke as overheard as Racialism and acted on it, this would cause a possible hatred backlash.
British People of all flavours generally take the mickey (no bad thing) take it and give it back gently.
This helps to break down barriers. |
