This father sold his daughter, is this practice what we will see more of if illegals are allowed to continue to come here?
We know there are many cultural differences, but is this a common practice?
And then being illegal he went to the police with this story.

SALINAS, Calif. -- A Greenfield father (illegal immigrant) accused of selling his 14-year-old daughter into marriage in exchange for $16,000, beer and meat has pleaded no contest to felony child endangerment.
Marcelino de Jesus Martinez had pleaded not guilty in February to procuring a child for lewd acts, aiding and abetting statutory rape and child endangerment. If convicted, he faced 10 years in prison.
Monday's plea means the 36-year-old father will be sentenced May 7 to up to a year in jail followed by deportation.
Prosecutors say Martinez and the family of Margarito de Jesus Galindo negotiated a marriage and dowry contract. Galindo and the girl allegedly lived together for week.
Martinez went to police to get his daughter back because payment wasn't made.

If illegals were not here, it would not have happened, we would not have to pay the cost of his court trial, his detention or his foster care for his daughter or his deportation. Yes I know there are some sick Americans too, and yes my people were caught and used as slaves along with blacks, so do not use that as any type of excuse.

If we can force Mexico to treat its people decently, and that is the real effort here no matter what any might say.. we will wind up with a neighbor that does life the way they want it, and will live well. Transport them to the American Society, and some do well, but most must overcome the language barrier and do not.
It is the truth to say the Mexican Nationals will be better off in a reformed Mexico.
It is the truth to say the United States will be far better off living next to a Mexico that reforms itself.
It is absolutely true to say the United States is NOT a good neighbor when they accept the corruption of the Government of Mexico, and the mistreatment of the people of Mexico. We are not a good neighbor, and frankly, we look pretty bad to boot.
I would point out that during the Cold War, we needed Mexico and simply over looked all the warts. We don't have an excuse to accept all the abuse that Government puts on its people, and try to lay on the American People. We need new Senate Leaders and we need a new direction in our foreign policy. |

What does legal or illegal have to do with it. If they still want to maintain their customs related to marriage arrangements, their immigration status isn't going to affect that.
To be honest, I think there are more instances of US citizens trying to sell their children for money than trying to sell them for marriage. |
