Abel Moreno faces deportation back to Mexico because when he called "911" to report a crime, this led to the discovery that he is an illegal alien from Mexico. So, the question is is he being deported for the first act (illegal immigration) or for the second act, calling "911" when a crime was being committed by someone else? Is this article's title "Facing deportation for stopping crime," accurate or misleading?

he may be deported for being here illegally. it seems he was caught when he called, but he wasn't exactly deported for calling. on the other hand, if the local police do this, they can't expect any illegal to willingly cooperate with them, now can they? So, ok they caught one more illegal. but they haven't done themselves any future favors. |
