Isn't this a simple solution to the illegal immigration problem?
Find answers to your legal question.

Isn't this a simple solution to the illegal immigration problem?

1. TAKE AWAY THEIR REASONS FOR COMING UP HERE
2. ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS THAT ARE ON THE BOOKS
3. SEAL THE BORDER

I WONDER HOW A DUMB 'SS LIKE ME CAN FIGURE THAT OUT AND THOSE GENIUSES IN WASHINGTON CAN'T

Oh, they know how to stop illegal immigration, but neither party wants to do it -- they don't want to lose the Hispanic vote and the Repubs won't crack down on the businesses who employ the illegals because they're essentially the party of business at this point.

If we do #1, we don't need #2 and #3 anymore.

And it'd be simple and cheap to do.

1) Impose a $1,000,000 fine for every criminal immigrant employed. Create a reward program that will give 10% of all fines collected to whoever reports it. This is available to both legal and criminal residents. That alone should solve most of our criminal immigrant problems. You'd make more money reporting that somebody had hired you than you would actually working for them.

You are correct. Now why do you suppose the politicians don't want to implement these steps ?
Sanctuary cities don't help the cause either !
You're not a dumbass ,although this is not an original idea.

Yes, and the truth hurts, that is why illegals and their advocates do not want the simple solution.

Great ideas now for the implementation of them:

1. Since they come from $3 a day wages we need to stop paying them to come here. Even if we pay them $4 dollars an hour that is still 10 times what they make back home. ICE does not have the manpower to go around and fine the companies that are hiring these people so that does not happen except when reported and it happens just enough so they can say they are doing their job. E-Verify is not reliable enough we need to use a database that has eye scans, fingerprints, possible body scans and photos loaded to IRS, ICE, SSA and Police Agencies with a smart card that has the information loaded into it so it has to match the database. ICE deports them and they come right back over. We don't want to pay for them to be in jail so we have been screwing ourselves.

2. The Immigration laws that are on the books are not enough, they only catch a percentage of those coming over. Getting caught is a Class B misdemeanor of the Federal Criminal Code.

3. The ones that don't get caught or their legal visas expire are all here with "Unlawful Presence" which is simply a CIVIL infraction of the federal law. It is still against the law but ICE has very little power if they don't have the people's, addresses and names so they can get warrants and deportation orders with their names on them. ICE has 6 agents in my town and most of the time they are too busy interviewing people to go out and bust illegal drug dealers and they don't have the names. The law would need to be changed so "Unlawful Presence" is more than CIVIL. AZ did it and criminalized a CIVIL infraction and that is why they are taking all the heat. AZ police don't even need warrants. That is both good and bad. Good because maybe they can get their job done now but bad because with the extra authority it can be abused even against US Citizens. Unintended consequences cause more problems later on so we need to be very careful about the laws.

4. Sealing the border is a great idea as well. First since illegal entry is only a class B misdemeanor they cannot use deadly force or shoot people crossing the border so if you want to change that the law needs to be changed. Second 40% of the border is Federally Protected lands that ICE agents cannot even patrol. How stupid is this? Rep Rob Bishop with UT is trying change this right now. This needs to be changed soon. Heaven forbid they kill a special snake or turtle. The ICE agents have their hands tied. Talk to any of them and they will tell you they can't do their jobs because of this, that and the other.

5. With politics and having to deal with Republicans and Democrats nothing gets done. You figured it out but now we have to figure out a way to do it legally and make it work. What should be done and what can be done are different.

Good Job.

1. Their reasons for coming here are low-skill jobs that don't pay what Americans would consider a living wage. You'd have to raise the base pay of those jobs and hold employers more accountable for their workers immigration status. That raises their costs, and raises the costs of the corresponding goods and services they produce. The employers don't want the burden of immigration enforcement, so there's naturally a lot of very powerful resistance from them.

2. Our current immigration laws don't provide viable paths for low skill workers to enter the country legally, almost all immigration to the US is restricted to relatives of residents, high-skill workers, and university students.

3. Mexico is a vital trading partner. Think of all the manufacturing that's there. 'Sealing the border' isn't trivial, and arguably isn't as cost effective as other measures.

4. You don't have a solution to the assimilated, productive, working illegals in the country. That's the big sticking point of every immigration reform/enforcement bill.

I don't necessarily think you're wrong, but the devil is in the details. Those are the big problems that don't really occur to the average "DUMB 'SS" that Washington is divided on.
